The number in the box is the ranking relative to the rest of the league. Some of these ratings seem subjective rather than based on data, but I can’t say that for sure. There probably is a stat nerd trying to measure all of this. Playing with better players on a better team helps. Factor in Dahlin’s workload and his partners with his score. It says to me that he deserved the All Star recognition and he is emerging as a top player. You can see that in his game performance. I still think about that game he missed. I've used the term "blossoming" with regard to Dahlin several times over the past few weeks, because to me, that's exactly what's happening. He's shown glimpses of what he could become in drips and drabs the whole time he's been here, but it was usually followed by a several games of "wtf is going on with this guy?" Over the last six weeks, he hasn't been perfect...obviously, no one is, but he has been excellent most nights and the "wtf?" games are more isolated incidents as opposed to a trend. As the team grows around him, he is going to be elite...like top-10 defenseman in the league. I'd agree that he's the best player on the team right now.
