On a side note....I think the importance of the center position in todays NHL compared to wingers has decreased slightly.  Do you want any holes at any position, including Center? Nope.  Is Center less important than the wing? Probably not.   But 5-10 years ago you needed dominant centers, they mattered SO much more than wingers. I don't think that is the case anymore. I'd put dominant/great wingers as an equal priority as the Center position now (or at least a lot closer than it was)

At least in terms of the advanced metrics, what I've read and been told and managed to understand is that centres affect the game a little more than wingers, and wingers affect the game more than D-men

This is of course all on average.

It should be painful to acquire Eichel. It really is that simple.

Exactly x 100! One of the top 10 to 15 players drafted the past decade. That’s at least worth a top prospect plus! These teams want to throw secondary assets and win a cup combining Eichel with their top prospects. Turgeon got Lafontaine. This is the same thing plus.

On a purely anecdotal note - the Jets over here where I live have built from the wing-in over the years and the results haven't been great. When it comes to the playoffs, I still think you need to match up at C depth or you are at a huge disadvantage

Piranha 3DD was a more thoughtful, critically acclaimed, picture.

Home Run Hollywood formula - add heaping amounts of beautiful young people,   Four parts of washed up actors, a sprinkle of hybrid porn stars, copious amount of nudity.  Shake.

Chytill = Middle 6 center.

Lundqvist = a right shot Ryan Johnson.

Lundqvist, statistically, is far more than Ryan Johnson.

He had 63 points in 97 games in the SHL as a 19 and 20-year-old defenceman.

8 points in 7 games in his last world juniors. 5 points in 3 games at this year's Men's world championship.

Last year he scored the most goals by a U21 defenceman in SHL history and won their version of the Norris.

The shake is really the critical piece.

Isn’t a two projected top 4 RHDs with complementary talents and a projected 2C a better return than a projected 1B C and a projected 4/5 (Krebs and Hague?)

Neither D have played a game in the NHL.  I can’t see why we need/want 2 D Men as a return. Unless one is Miller and a guaranteed top 4 with the second, a prospect.  Prefer a top Center and fewer pieces.

By the time the trade call is made this thread will either be the Sound of Music or Shartnado.

If it falls somewhere between ecstasy and agony, will it simply be 'The Sound of Sharts'?

If these cheap skate GMs don’t want to suffer a bit for Jack and essentially demand to be gifted him, I say we walk. Maybe even offer sheet one of their guys too!

Okay now I’m being emotional, but still. This is beyond ridiculous, it’s like they’re trying to fleece KA. I feel like they’re all the NYR at this point.

I don't think they'll give you tuch

Well, I'm going for high.  Reilly Smith is definitely not the answer.  I wouldn't touch any veterans on more than a one year deal.  Unless we're flipping.

I'd rather have Krebs, Brisson, the first, and Smith

than the offer with Hague

(that had him instead of brisson)

Tuch is a nice player but it’s not as if he is a PPG player or something. Not even close to that. If they say a player like him is untouchable it really makes you question if we can even really “win” a trade with them at all in the long run of all of this.

Then again, I’m not even sure how important NHL ready players are to KA in this.

I'm predicting that he doesn't get traded today.

Could very well be.

Today is really, actually the last "deadline" (ha). After today, all bets are off

Is it crazy to want their 1st in the next two drafts?
