Even if he was full of sh*t behind the bench and he knew it, I would NOT call him a "bad" person.

That would be ridiculous. By all accounts he *wanted* to succeed.

I voted for neither, because I don't think was a bad coach, I think he wasn't an NHL coach.

It mostly reflects on the organization for bringing in an off-the-board pick and sticking with him. Gotta leave him in the past now

Unfortunately we tend to personalize things that in my opinion are objective views that need to be disconnected from the person. I have no reason to believe RK is a bad person but I have some reasons to believe he was not a good coach.

WHILE infected with Covid, he slipped past an elderly lady in the produce department at Wegman's and licked a bunch of grapes. He KNEW she was going to sample one (or seven) of them.

If that's not pure evil, I don't know what is.

You make a piercing observation lost in the Krueger failure. Hiring Krueger was a gamble to begin with because he was such an out of the box hiring. Needless to say it didn't work out. The bigger failure here was keeping him on longer than he should have. It was apparent at least a dozen games into the ignominious streak that the team quit on him. The owners and the front office should have made the firing a lot sooner. I don't know of another franchise in the league that wouldn't have acted sooner. That is an indictment on the ownership.

I hate that we are a society that almost automatically assigns extremely negative personality traits to people we don’t agree with.  We didn’t agree with how RK approached coaching and we label him a con artist.

No wiggle room for it just being sports? Performance art? Was Bryan Cox on your Xmas card list?

He was just following the process of passing his post-Covid antibodies to make sure her defense was set.

While I refer to him as a con man(which may have helped him in terms of getting hired for the job), I wouldn't call him a "bad person".  Just ended up being a really bad hockey coach of the Sabres.

Yeah...but has he ever pocketed a handful of sugar packets?

It wasn't Krueger's fault that he was a silver-tongued devil,  he interviewed well and demanded a three year 3.7 million contract even though he only had twenty games of experience as an NHL coach. It wasn't his fault at all. No, it was all the Pegulas' fault. Funny enough, Krueger's story mirrors the influence that Rasputin had over the Romanovs. https://oldspirituals.com/2015/04/12/rasputin-influence-romanovs/

Krueger is not a bad person.  The players really liked and respected him.   But he was arrogant in thinking his international tournament system would work in a full NHL season.  When it became clear it wasn't working, he refused to change.  Adams and the Pegulas were also too trusting in Ralph.  He should have been confronted or fired much earlier.  This lost season is another gift from Jason "Botterkill" who almost destroyed this franchise, and the Pegulas trying to be cheap and hire Adams, a completely inexperienced GM who let Ralph lead him and the Pegulas by around by the nose until it was too late.

I think "con man" is another way of saying "bad person" in this scenario. It implies he knowingly and deliberately tries to deceive people for his own gain.

Ralph is a nice guy who wanted to coach like Marv Levy. Light practice schedule, minimal discipline, more of a CEO. Problem, he didn't have the staff to support that nor the type of veteran leadership and not enough alpha dogs on his roster. On top of that, coaching wasn't his passion just something he did with a lot of other interests. I admit, I was wrong as to how that would manifest itself in relation to this team although I think the goalie situation and 2C doomed his as well.

Terrible coach and possibly a bully.

He is a terrible coach.  He had no idea how to utilize his talent to their best advantage and was so stuck in his “system” that he sucked the life out of every creative player on the team.

I also think there is circumstantial evidence that he is a bully.  His ability to destroy the confidence of young players and the Chris Taylor firing leads me to believe that he probably bullies people who aren’t responding to his motivational tactics or who aren’t yes men.

I’m so glad he is gone I can’t begin to tell you.

Then I guess he is a "bad person".  Bottom line....just glad he is gone.  Is definitely in the running for worst Sabres HC in their 50 year history.

Worst coach in Sabres history and maybe in  NHL history.  I’ve never seen a coach who knew so little about how to handle players, create lines or coach any semblance of offense.

Is he a con-man? I wouldn’t go there.  I don’t know the man, but I do feel he is a my way or the highway kind of guy who doesn’t create a culture where subordinates ideas or opinions are valued.
