With Tokarski in net, I think we lose this.

Odds are that the Sabres will lose to the more talented Capital team. That wouldn't be a surprise. But that is not to say there isn't merit in simply playing hard and being competitive regardless who the opponent is. Also, there is a large contingent of young players on this roster who are being given a lot of playing time that they wouldn't get if they were on a fuller team. This is an opportunity for them to accelerate their development and earn future roster spots. And for a player such as Skinner this is a time for redemption and an opportunity to prove that the dispatched coach who went out of his way to bury him was grossly wrong about him as a player. If Skinner can play at the level when he first joined the team that is like adding a new impacting free agent instead of having a high cost player who faded into oblivion.

It's really too bad it's going to end up going this way. The kids are playing some inspired hockey but they need a better goalie behind them to give them a real chance at some wins. They might squeak one or two out with Tokarski but it's going to take a Herculean effort from everyone involved.

Tokarski/Houser is the 1A/1B goalie tandem I've been dreaming for my entire life.

A nightmare is a dream too.

Unbelievable... GM Adams traded away a legit back-up Goaltender... and had months to bring another legit back-up to the team... Sorry... Guy is a Bonehead...

Prior to the trade deadline we were 400k under the cap.  League minimum is $775k.  They could have LTIR’d Eichel or McCabe but whatever at this point.

That's what happens when you give plugs like eakin over 2mil

And Girgensons and Tage not to mention $14 mill tied up in Skinner and Okposo.  Fixing the Sabres salary structure should be Karmanos’ priority.  It won’t be easy.

Well I doubt anyone could of predicted how unlucky we have been with goalie health this year. Not to mention we really shouldn't be in the market for another random goalie; if he could of got one of the two CBJ goalies its a different story. If he must just sign some random goalie out there to a contract.
