The problem lies with Krueger, and in fact why it’s so hard to make these comparisons. The 20-21 Sabres are both with Krueger and without, fired halfway through. We're still going to suck? The return more than anything would dictate where I would trade Jack if I'm the Sabres. They need to get a max return of NHL players, top prospects and picks. They cannot afford to lose or even appear to lose or tie the trade, it has to be a definitive win IMO. For that reason I can't just say, West Coast or nothing, but.... The fact that Jack Eichel came to Buffalo after such a long drawn out tank period, the price they paid to get him, and the players they lost along the way is why I would hate to see him on a team that could end Buffalo's season before reaching the Stanley Cup.
