The Canucks have had a few strong years but overall have Sabres were much better in the first 40 years. Add in the 10 years of a Pegula and that changes things, probably evens it out a bit. The Sabres under The Pegula’s are as bad as the worst ever franchise, the Oakland Seals/California Golden Seal/Cleveland Barons. The Canucks have made it past the 2nd round 4 times in 50 years. The Sabres have made it past the 2nd round 6 times. Canucks 3 Finals losses. Sabres 2 Finals losses. Sabres missed the playoffs 20 times. Canucks missed the playoffs 21 times. At least we got Perreault and they ended up with Tallon. The gap has definitely been closed in the last decade. Bottom line...both fanbases deserve better. 100+ years of combined hockey and not a single Cup between them.
