GDT: Islanders at Sabres, Feb. 16, 2021, 7:00 pm

Islanders had an easy time of it last night so it's possible they come out over confidant and sloppy. In order to have a chance we need to come out with high energy and a fast start and get a big early lead. Trouble is we usually start slow. If they get up early they will shut us down same as last game.

PP could save us. They seemed over focused on Eichel last time and Olofsson was open a lot (hence his goal). If they don't adjust that it's a possible vulnerability that can be exploited.

-- Hold your ire. There goes another [game]. [The team] must have short-circuited.

++ That's funny. The damage doesn't look as bad from out here. Are you sure this team is safe?

I'm going to miss the first hour... but that means I can either watch on delay if its tied/close, or just steer clear if the Isles are already up 3-0 and outshooting us 22-7.

Sounds like I didn't miss much yesterday by being in winter hellterland. Thank you Nfreeman for the GDT and I guess to the HaterofRisto man for yesterdays. Looking on the bright side, hopefully we can turn things around with a win after a loss as opposed to the past loss after a win scenario.

LETS GO BUFFALO

I'm feeling confused as to how to approach this game given the unrelenting numbness I feel about the team.

Go Sabres? (asking in a whimpering whisper as I watch the game peaking from behind the door frame).

or

go sabres......(it's the start of the 3rd period honey, flick over to the oak island recording from last night, if I'm going to look like bones in a chair, watching bore drills dig holes on a North Atlantic island seems to be way more exciting).

or

Go sabr.............freak it, just hand me the bottle of Jack honey, I feel like comatose'ing myself as quickly as possible.

or

GO SABRES! Now you get off your ass's and get out there and take this game! (nah, I just don't have it in me).

So many choices, which one will show up tonight.............

I've done some soul searching and I've come to the conclusion that tonight will be the start of 15 game winning streak for the Sabres.

The odds of this Sabres squad successfully winning 15 games in a row is approximately one million four hundred sixteen thousand six hundred sixty... to one. (That's significantly worse odds than successfully attacking a star destroyer in a converted Corellian YT-1300 freighter.)

To which... all we have to do is define "success". Let's keep a little optimism here.

So you're saying there's a chance!

The Islanders didn't impress me much last night, at least not the period I watched.   I really don't feel like we been outplayed much by other teams this season, but we keep shooting ourselves in the foot more and more.

Missing good chances - goalies letting soft ones in - untimely penalties.
