I can’t remember. Can they rule for either for 1 year or 2 year award, or is just 1 year?

The party that didn't file for arbitration (the Sabres) chooses the term when it could be for up to 2 years.

Have to believe the Sabres will choose 1 year for all 3.

I didn't know where to ask this, so I figured I would do it here...

Does anyone remember an article from The Athletic last year about how most players that go to salary arbitration end up getting traded?

It was a great article, but I've been thinking about it lately and how it worries me about them trading Reinhart and/or Olofsson to save money.

I've looked everywhere for it and cannot find the article.

(It did end up happening with Rodrigues.)

EDIT: I found it! Lol.

I’m hopeful that contracts are agreed to before the hearings.

I think this is because if a player and team are unable to come to terms and are forced to go to an arbitration hearing it indicates that the two parties have a fundamental disagreement about the value of the player.  That’s not likely to resolve itself at the end of the 1-2 year arbitration awarded contract, so it’s best to move on before it’s time to negotiate another contract.

I really hope you're right...losing one of those kids would create a massive hole in the top-6.

Just wanted to gauge what others thought of the possibility of them being signed before it gets to this point.
