Don't excuse Dallas for its part in the boredom.  And I think the refs sent a signal in the second period about touching the goalie when they penalized Perry.  MAybe not, but just IMO.

Still, a boring series, for the most part.  Hopefully it is over very soon.

I don’t think so. That was a penalty. I just think intentionally taken a penalty can sometimes be the right play.

I can agree with that.  Nothing wrong with running someone if all you're going to get is two minutes (or nothing).  Sometimes, it can change the course of a team.

Way to go Tampa!

They were the unquestionable favorite last year and lost spectacularly to Columbus in the 1st round.  They did such a great job of vindicating themselves as true champions this year.  I can't even imagine how satisfying that must be for their players and coaching staff.

Way to go Tampa!

Really have to credit the NHL for a bubble that went off pretty much without a hitch

So true.  Many sacrifices were made by those players, coaches, staff, etc., and it definitely improved the standard of living for NHL fans enduring the age of covid.

The Tampa Cup reminds me of the NCAA basketball situation for Virginia.  In 2018, UVa was the top seed and became the only #1 seed to ever lose to a #16 seed (and didn't just lose but got hammered).  Just like Tampa got swept by Columbus last year.  UVa responded by winning the NCAA title the following year, and now Tampa did the same thing.

I don't get all the fuss over comparing the two, ROR winning and then Bogo. ROR was a centrepiece, conn Smythe winner. Bogo was scratched during games in the final.

I'm not happy for them OR upset at them, I don't know them personally. They won. Good for them.

I don't see the fuss.  Is it here or somewhere else?

I fussed. Mostly I don't care, but the "because Buffalo" crowd will put it on the table and it's annoying.  I agree @Thorny they are much different in significance, but both were massive failures here and I put that on the player, not the GMs/owners. Pair it with the Eichel thread/rumors and yeah what fun it is to be a Sabres fan.
