LGR4GM
19 minutes ago, JohnC said: What are the thoughts of trading our #1 pick for Chicago's Dylan Strome---straight up deal? This topic has been discussed on more than a few occasions on WGR's Instigator Show with Marty Biron saying no while the other hosts would be more receptive to making that deal. Craig Rivet has been vocal in his willingness to trade our first round pick or including him in a deal for immediate help at the 2C spot. I would punch the GM in the knees. Strome isn't worth #8 overall straight up. Not in this draft. 1

Timo Meier*, Ryan Merkley, Jonathan Dahlen and a future first-round pick * Note: he initially suggests Burns instead of Meier, but then makes a pretty good argument for why that wouldn't work. This trade is particularly hilarious. I like Meier, he's a good player, but teams should remember that they, for one, aren't trading for 60 point JE anymore and for two, the old GM isn't here anymore. 29 minutes ago, dudacek said: This. Strome is a reasonable target as a stop-gap. I’d give up a second for him. But he is the prime example of a skilled guy who isn’t hard enough or fast enough to fully utilize that skill against the NHL’s best. He’ll put up points as a PP specialist, or sheltered with better players, and not much else. Yep, Strome should be the prototypical fall back option this offseason. Much better than nothing, at the right price, but we should be aiming higher at first. If Strome is the best current C we add this offseason, we'll be adding a nice high first prospect to our prospect pool, as well. Have you ever seen Dudacek and Marty in the same place? Have you heard Dudacek’s French Canadian accent? How about Marty’s Western Canadian accent?

Dudacek can't be Marty because the congenial and loquacious Marty gives longer open-ended responses that include frequent references about his sizeable twitter followers.

Dudacek's standard extended responses are still considered succinct compared to Marty's meandering and exhausting responses. Marty is one of a kind. He can not be duplicated. Dudacek is a fine fellow but he is no Marty
