Dean Melanson blasts Richard Zednik who's down on the ice.  Zednik was a rookie at the time.

A nice Red Dog Beer ad on the boards.  Back when every beer needed to have the word Red, Dog or Ice in the name.

My first job was working at a restaurant when Red Dog was still very new. We had both Red Dog and Bad Frog available. I thought that that was a pretty solid selection of names.

Whoa! That's a Baby Barry Trotz behind the bench.

PP goal Ward on the rebound from Holzinger.

Then, on the next PP (Nichol keeps drawing penalties), Holzinger takes the faceoff and then backs off to play point. Interesting

I was in grad school and never saw this game before.  Thanks, Inkman.

Nice. Hope they load onto Amerks youtube as well for future enjoyment.

The LetGoAmerks YouTube page has this game in its entirety, along with the season in review highlight video of the 96 season with all sorts of interviews. They also have the same highlight videos of the Amerks 1983 and 1987 Calder Cup seasons. They’re not too long and really fun to look back on.

I can't believe the amount of hooking and interference that occurs. It is constant and over whelming.

It was the trend from the Goon Era through the Dead Puck Era.  Until the 1993-4 Devils, defensive positioning was a lost art; the clutch-and-grab and hook-and-hold were the only way that most teams knew how to play defence.  It got worse every year until the Great Lockout.

Yep.  As long as you kept your feet moving, waterskiing was completely allowed.
