The Buffalo Sabres will look to shake off yesterday afternoon's 6-3 home loss to the Vancouver Canucks when they take the ice tonight at Little Caesars Arena.

Faceoff against the Detroit Red Wings is set for 5 p.m. Catch the Buick Game Night pregame show at 4:30 on MSG.

  • The Sabres are 9-2-2 against the Red Wings since the beginning of the 2016-17 season, including a 6-1-0 record on the road and a 2-0 win in Detroit in the first meeting between the teams this season.
  • The Sabres enter tonight's game with wins in four consecutive visits to Detroit for just the second time in franchise history, joining Buffalo's five-game road winning streak against the Red Wings from Oct. 25, 1979 to Dec. 12, 1981.
  • Buffalo has killed 32 of 36 penalties (88.9%) against Detroit in the last 10 meetings between the clubs, dating back to March 20, 2017.
  • This is the second of four meetings between the Sabres and Red Wings this season.
  • Last meeting: Buffalo defeated Detroit 2-0 in Detroit on Oct. 25, 2019
  • Next meeting: Thursday, Feb. 6 in Buffalo
  • The Sabres are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games vs. the Red Wings; 7-2-1 on the road.
  • Thanks (+1) 1

Thanks for the clarification on location, Taro. . . to Pimlach's point, they should still be embarrassed

Absolutely, they should be embarrassed.

And Hutton should not have another start as a Sabre.  He became Bob Essensa literally overnight.  He couldn't lose when the season started and now he couldn't stop a beachball.

I always find this attitude bizarre. Wings fans could just as well be saying the same thing.

True, but if we lose this one, the season is officially over. In January.
