Scott Wilson Called Up

The question now is Wilson in the lineup while Frolik's visa goes through...   or does ERod get a chance to skate? If ERod/agent had kept quiet, with Olofsson and Skinner out, he could be skating on a line with Eichel and Reino. That'd be good for stats and his next contract. But alas... maybe he just continues to sit and stew.

Nothing against Wilson, the guys skates hard, but if this is the reinforcement... YIKES!!

What about CJ Smith? He seems a better fit here. No?

Could be, it seems he just returned from his long injury, came back on the 27th and then missed the 28th.. claimed illness?  Perhaps he's not quite ready to go.

It would be Thompson, but he's still out too.

Ya, his signing and then not playing and then being waived just screams that this organization has lost it (if they ever had it) and has no idea what they are doing. Just doesn't make any sense at all.

I think Ink was just making a joke.

They obviously signed him and brought him up just to be physical/fight in that one game and maybe a few others if they want just that for a game in the future.

You can say that’s stupid or pointless or whatever, but the plan with Dalton Smith was pretty clear.

It is funny. It's also true. ERod is making $2M because of arbitration. He had 25 points in 48 games a couple years back and 29 points last year. His production says 30-45 points per full season. If ERod were to play with Eichel/Reinhart for 15 games this season (the entire duration of Olofsson's injury, as well as PP time) AND... he gets it together and gels with his old college linemate at 1 ppg --- that's huge for ERod to not only stay in the NHL, but stay at the $2M range.

Not with us; we're not bringing him back despite that RFA status --- any maybe not elsewhere --- but that can be his asking price based on production. What we're seeing this year is a 2-way $700k player.

So, Calgary hadn’t played any games in the US yet this season?

He'd been a Czech citizen employee of a Canadian company.  He'll now be a Czech citizen employee of a US based one.  Not an immigration lawyer nor play one on the internet.  But apparently, working full time in the US requires different paperwork than just working a few days here.

It's stupid if you sign a guy to be tough for 1 game.

Olofsson injury replacement?

From what I remember of him, he played with some energy, no?

Very similar player to Girgs...just not as big.  Yes high energy who will finish his checks.

Dude played 64 games for the Sabres. Why is he getting the "I've never heard of this guy treatment"?

This became an issue recently. I remember reading an article a couple of years ago that change in laws in both countries would make this a lot more paperwork intensive and no longer a “rubber stamp.”

He has a Canadian work visa to live in Canada work for a Canadian company.  He has to get an American one to live in the US and work for an American company.
