  1. 1. Will Jack Eichel get more than 100 points this year?

    • Yes, he will cruise right on past 100 points

    • Not sure, depends on how hot he stays throughout the year

    • No, he will cool off---his 19% Shooting Percentage is unsustainable at nearly double his career average and he will not get enough assists to make up the difference

Eichel is rocketing up the leaderboards and is currently tied for 5th with 46 points in 33 games thanks to a torrid 15 game point streak that has seen him get more than half his points this year so far.

He is currently on pace for 114 points if he plays all 82 games.

Will he crack 100 points this year?  I say yes and I also say he hits 40 goals as well.  This is all as long as he stays healthy of course.

What say you? Will he or won't he?  And if you vote no, what do you think his goal/point totals look like at the end of the year?

My expectation is low 100's and 40-42 goals.

Yes, his shooting percentage is above his historical shooting percentages, but he's also moving tighter into the slot before taking shots and still finding ways to get there cleanly.  So, the percentage SHOULD be better than historically, but likely not quite as high as it currently is.

All that assumes continued good health, obviously.

49 games left...he needs 54 points to get there.  That is basically 1.1 points per game.

He is at 1.39 PPG so far this year.

Last year he was at 1.06

Looks good to hit 100 this year.  A better puck-moving D-corp might be just the thing this year to get him those extra points compared to last year.

I believe he can maintain his pace for the season and hit 100 points.

I don’t think he can sustain this pace of 27 pts in his last 15 games.

A pace that would get him 147 point over a season. That’s a number we haven’t seen since 1996. Yeah, he’ll cool off from that pace a bit.

I think, and hope, he’ll do it.

Even just a point a game going forward, assuming health, ties him with Briere’s 95 point mark from 13 years ago. Even Perreault only hit the 95 point mark 4 times in his career. He’s on track for a very impressive season regardless, and with health he should get to 100. With health and a decent to good PP I see it as a near-lock.

What has me so excited is that Eichel has improved goal and assist numbers every season he has played in the league so far and it looks like he is going to shatter his previous best this year...all while improving his defensive respnsibilities and turning in an impressive +15 so far

I'm not going to say what he will or won't do (way too superstitious for that) but he's shooting double his career shooting percentage. Odds are he'll gravitate towards his normal percent.  Maybe he keeps up the pace with assists.
