CallawaySabres
Ok, so I have my daughter's lest taken care of but really struggling to get that one gift that really makes Christmas for the boy. I thought I had it nailed down with the Occulus Go Quest virtual reality headset. He does not own a phone or a gaming system so I thought this would be great....except the whole country is sold out of them. Any suggestions out there? And no, I am not getting him a gaming system or phone....not yet
Zamboni
I’m not gonna ask you the why’s of cellphones and gaming systems. That’s your personal preference/parenting. What’s he into? Art, sports, science, reading, movies, clothes, electronics, toys?
CallawaySabres
Loves sports and he hasn't asked for a phone or game system so i don't want to offer it quite yet.
SDS
So, I try to emphasize experiences over things. Tickets, a trip, lessons, etc... or a gift that facilitates experiences.

Agree with you here, taking my daughter to NYC for some Broadway shows and my son to a Raptors game.

Doing another Post Malone show with daughter. College son wanted an electric skateboard to get around campus. If that gets him outside, then I’m all for it. In 15 or 20 years he’ll remember the experience more than a gift.
Zamboni
Start going to one arena (of his favorite sport) every year. Going to see his favorite team if possible, in many different cities and arenas. Only downside is, it could get pretty darn expensive. If he likes the outdoors, take him On a camping trip to a national park. If he likes hockey, go to the hockey hall of fame in Toronto. If it's in the budget maybe take him on a trip to a road game.
