Asplund should get a look too. I am also really happy to see Risto with Dahlin. (Sorry @LGR4GM) Interesting that Sam is back with Jack so quickly. LGR4GM
I'm literally just learning that Erod is a righty. Skinner - Cozens - Erod is a very interesting line combo. On paper to my brain that line should work really well.
dudacek
Also, can we safely call this an A group? Its got our top 4 forwards and our top 2 D. I count 13 surefire opening night guys. Other group has McCabe, Sheary, and a ton of bubble guys like Casey, Tage, Vlad, Kyle... LGR4GM
I need someone to talk me down... is Dylan Cozens going to make this team?
Randall Flagg
That is some bold stuff. I like it, but the wrong winger is back with Jack! I'm sure it's not super representative of what we'll see since it's only phase 2, whatever that means

Derrico
I thought Joker played the right side? He on his off-hand? Anyone know if he has any experience with this or is this just a result of our glut at RHD? Also, it looks like that Scandella - Miller pairing is something they like. I believe they were also paired in Phase 1 of camp?

I haven’t seen too much of Cozens play, but it seems like he drives to the middle of the ice and draws defenders to him. Sounds like he should be able to create space for Skinner. Would prefer to see VO with Jack though. I think Jack would help Victor transition, just as Skinner would help Cozens.

Randall Flagg
I'm remembering Dahlin and Risto being spectacularly bad in their brief time together.
Zamboni
Cozens won’t be making the team this season. This is preseason. You’ll see different combos every game. Some lines will change mid-game. I’m reading nothing into these daily preseason changes. Hell, the lines you see today may not even be what you see in tomorrow’s game.
Randall Flagg
Okay, Dahlin and Risto actually played more together than I thought, and the results weren't as bad as I thought. 220 minutes, 9 goals for, 10 against, positive expected goal share, negative shot share by a couple percentage points. I must just be remembering one particularly ugly game or something. Edited September 19, 2019 by Randall Flagg

I’m pretty sure you are right. I also remember reading a great post from someone here on why Pilut and Risto worked and thinking “every point being made applies just as much to a Rasmusx2 pair” They have complementary skill sets and are our two most talented defenceman. Just let the teenager do most of the puckhandling and it could evolve into a legitimate #1 pairing.

Because Ristolainen will never ever ever ever ever ever allow someone to do most of the puckhandling and zone exits.

If Risto is really tired of losing, maybe he’ll listen to his coach.
