Ryan Miller indicates this is his final season

He'll retire as the all-time career wins leader for American goalies, though Quick will eventually surpass him for that title. He was absolutely elite for a period of time in the NHL and should have had a Stanley Cup title or two if ownership had been more devoted and management more proactive.

Luckily it’s the hockey hall of fame.

Not sure where you’re going with that.

Do you think Miller’s contributions outside the NHL are enough to get him in, or at least get him over the top?

His Olympic performances will definitely help.

Looking at season-by-season he really only was elite in 2010.

No cups, one vezina, one 1st team all-star, 1 silver medal/Olympic MVP

But he is 16th all-time in wins.

2006, 07, and 10 don’t happen without him.  The system depended upon his stellar play.  Stats or not.

Plus his style has always allowed his teams to play more aggressive and leave him out to dry. His stats would be better if the teams he played in played a more defensive game.

he was just so good on break aways.

Him and Drury were my favourite players when I first got into hockey.

I hope he signs a one day contact and retires as a Sabre

That would be a classy move by the organization.  I hope it happens too.

Is there something more than just the quote in the twitter post?  I don't necessarily read that one as "it's my last year".  Or maybe it's because I haven't seen Major League in ages.

Yeah, I didn't get where that was coming from after reading it here. It seemed more like he was just saying he's playing at least one more year in Anaheim, but nothing about it being his last year in the NHL. Seems that's up to the Ducks/Cali teams as to whether they want him as a backup and keep playing.
