Has Lazar passed his 30 days? I don’t think so. Dea is definitely waiver-safe

As much as it makes them ***** to Amerks fans, I think Botterill’s first priority is to make sure the Sabres have options and that means at least one spare forward and one spare defencemen available.

That Krueger chose to dress the spare D instead of the 12th forward makes a sucky Amerk situation hurt more, but I think it’s a decision most NHL teams would have made.

Not sure about the 30 days, but he could very well have been up for 10 games now.  He skated in 6 and was a healthy scratch for at least 2 and likely 4-5.

Why would you even post this?  To show that you are an arrogant jerk with no ability to empathize with a fanbase that is just asking for the basic fundamentals of a farm franchise.

The Amerks are down double digit forwards and are playing an entire 4th line of defenseman while two capable healthy forwards sit in the press box an hour (or two tonight) down the Thruway.

I tend not to get caught up in as this is the life of a minor league fanbase but to unabashedly drop in with this moronic yawn comment is just being a *****.

Because this is the way the food chain works. It has always worked this way. It will always work this way. So they sat 2 guys that you'd have like the Amerks to dress. Neither you nor a have any idea about players health or injury status. Maybe they had a couple guys sick who weren't sure they could go. Maybe they just wanted some more bodies around. It's part of the deal. Would you be happier if they'd brought 2 guys from Cincinnati to solve the lack of forwards? That's the direction the food chain should work. I'm sorry, I appreciate Rochester for what it is but the kvetching that happens every time the roster ends up weird because of a problem at the NHL level doesn't do anything for me. I'm sure the Bisons would have liked to have Vlad Guerrero Jr. All year too.

For the record, it didn't bother me one bit.  I was just stating the majority's opinion.  And I think I said everything you did as well. 🤷

The dozens of us in attendance enjoyed it immensely. Dea was sharp. Hammond could have stopped an RTS bus tonight. Fitz was the dman forward.

Best overheard fan comment of the night....

The Jumbotron shows an older white hair couple with Santa tees on. Someone behind me SCREAMS “Santa! I know him!”

Thank you, kind sir. That was dope.

Malone from Dalton Smith. Amerks 1-0.  After the ensuing faceoff Aquin throws hands with a Charlotte Checker. Doesn't embarrass himself.

Amerks 4-0, goalie with a terrible clearing attempt from the corner. Doesn't make it back to the net, defenseman shoots it towed net, forward tips it in. It was Cornel who tipped it from Lazar.

We were being outshot 19-8 at one point in the 2nd. Halfway through the 3rd we’re outshooting them 28-20. That’s nuts.

What's more amazing the the motley Crew they are doing it with. Vail, Randall, Dalton Smith, Malone, Cornel, Aquin, Fitzgerald at forward, and obviously Porter, Ogelvie, Dea, Lazar and Murray.  They have a seriously talented Defense crew with at least half of them NHL futures or AHL all-stars.

Vail

Especially with this one. Remember his stint her a few years ago? He was something like a -16 in 13 gp. He skates like a dump truck. He always has a random strap hanging out of his sweater or pants. He looks like he crawled out of a dumpster.

I am grateful he scored tonight but I’ll be even more grateful when he’s back in the bus to Cincinnati.

This team is really impressive. I honestly thought they’d be average going into this season. Thought they lacked top end scoring, but the defense and goaltending have been phenomenal. And they e been winning without CJ Smith, Thompson, Elie and Leier. And maybe Asplund too.

Hockey night in Rochester. Penguins in town for the only time this year. The vender that does garbage plate does a mini version with a beer for $5.85 on Wednesday nights. They use waffle fries which is genius IMO. I have to go all the way around to the other side for Genny products on Wednesday too. That’s almost unacceptable.🍺

Go Amerks!

Lazar scores to put the Amerks up 1-0 end of 1. A few minutes before the period ended the puck deflected off the Pens stick and hit the ref right in the nuts. I did laugh. I’m sorry.

Nice to see CJ Smith and Leier (and Burton, too although I'm completely unfamiliar with him) back in the lineup. Even with those reinforcements, the Amerks still dressed 7 D last night. Was Casey Fitzgerald still playing wing? Good on him to stay in the lineup since the D-corps is stacked.

What's really fun is their record while missing all those forwards. (And still missing Wilson, Elie, Thompson, and Asplund. Although getting Asplund in an Amerks sweater might not happen again.)
