Dahlin:

Olofsson in roughly 6 minutes shorthanded has (according to me) only has 4 shots against, 3 went in

Your chart was showing him out killing a penalty in game 40 for a relatively long time.  Thought that was the game in Boston and didn't see Dahlin out in that one at all on the PK.  Is your game 40 a different game?

Sabres are shorthanded at the end of the game but pull the goalie to go 5-on-5.  That's where I'd put my money.  I feel like that should explain Olofsson too.

But back to the point of my original question.  The PK has performed slightly better with Ullmark in net, but it doesn't look to be a very meaningful difference.

Olofsson has got some late PK minutes on the "3rd" unit with Jack as Ralph tried catch a tired PP napping.

He was reportedly a PK regular last year under Taylor in Rochester.

That would make sense.

For Olofsson too on the longer 1 Dahlin was out for.  If we could figure out which game that was would verify it.

Don't know, haven't figured out what's going wrong yet

The Detroit game is Event 231, it looks like Dahlin came out at the end of the PK and the scorers didn't record it correctly, giving Dahlin a half minute of PK time

So, just correcting for those 2 games, he's under 2 minutes on the year.  (Maybe he really does have less than 1 minute of PK time this season.)

Found the Boston mistake, event 255, scoring mistake.

He had about 0:22 in the Devils game and 0:10 in the Rags game.

Didn't check the other 3 games (1st TB Sweden game, Minny, & Filly).   Will assume they're correct and he's JUST over 1 minute this year.  (That 0:22 at the end of their 3rd penalty when up 6-2 in the home opener 'll be what puts him over 1:00 on the year. )

After watching last night's highlights, I am more puzzled by NHL GM's than ever.

The Sabres clearly looked invigourated by getting Simmonds.  I can't believe there haven't been many "sideways" NHL trades from, say, New Year's Day or even the All Star Break to the Trade Deadline for years.  Teams like the Sabres in the last 2 years could save a season by trading each other useful but marginal players at complementary positions.  If the team had added Simmonds a month ago and played like that in the big home stand, they would be on the brink of the playoffs now.
