All your D belong to us, come make a deal?

Is this the strategy?

Well, that would give the Sabres:

Gardiner - Montour

Dahlin - Miller

McCabe - Ristolainen

and the Amerks:

Pilut - Bogosian

Scandella - Nelson

Hunwick - Borgen

Redmond and Gilmour'll look great in Cincy. ;)

Well, at least we know we won't have to rely on Jeff Jillson in the ECF.

The strategy must be to not give up any goals when lines 2,3,4 are on the ice. You do this by playing all defensive players.  You turn line 1 into the full offense power line and score when they are out.

I'm not going to use the GIF here, but it is a bold strategy. 🙂

I'd love to see what a guy who scored like Redmond did last year would put up in the ECHL.

That lineup would have to set some sort of record for the most buried money at one position in the history of time.

Maybe RK is going to completely shake up the hockey world by using 3 D and 2 F for his schemes.

Less physically gifted version of Risto.  Puts up some points on O, makes some terrible mistakes in his own end.  Would make us better and it would be fun to see him stick it to the leafs fans but he is far from a perfect player.

Why would the Sabres want that when they already have the "better" version of...that?

Ralph came from soccer, he's playing a back 5.

Because they may need to trade that better version to get offensive help?

Every trade we make should have a clause stating that if you later trade that player to Toronto we get an additional unprotetced first round pick.

This isn't even remotely accurate.

Well, it's been over 25 years since the Jets toyed with that plan.

By "less physically gifted" he must mean "smaller."

Physically? Risto is bigger and stronger and possibly faster.  Are we operating on different assumptions of what "physically gifted means?

I'm factoring skating into this equation.

Gardiner is absolutely a better skater, in both speed and form.

Gardiner's stats suggest he's a lot better in his own end too

Well, I think he's just as bad at Risto while in his own end. He's just so much better at transitioning the puck that he doesn't get trapped there for entire shifts at a time.

Correct. He's a better defenseman than Risto in basically every way.
