Hip surgery too. Not a great one to have at 20 years old

Nope.  Plus, as we know with Bogo, this is a 5-6 month recovery time.  This was his last off season to train before he starts his professional career.  I think Roch is counting on him as their #1 next year so this is....not good.

Better than playing injured for years like Bogo.

Ullmark had hip surgery once too. Better to get it done now and recover.

No but this is one of our top prospects and hopeful answer to our goalie issues in a couple of years.  It's a big deal him not being able to train all offseason.  Does he even start as the #1 in Roch with little training?  This could set his development back atleast half a season and thus that much further from being a Sabre.

So both Rochester goalies next year will be coming off major injuries?  3 young goalies come into the Sabres system and have hip problems, sounds  like a strength and conditioning program problem. Andrew Allen needs to be shown the door, possibly training staff too,.

Johansson won’t be in Rochester. UPL and a veteran to be signed this summer.

What the ***** are you even talking about? UPL has barely worked with the training staff in Buffalo.

My guess is that young hockey players are training hard enough that they injure themselves.  They're not going to stop because the ones that train that hard are the ones that get noticed and move up.  NHL prospects trashing their hips are probably like MLB pitching prospects needing Tommy John surgery (which is getting pretty common, and actually the surgery often makes them a stronger pitcher).
