NEW YORK (AP) -- Jim Schoenfeld has resigned as vice president and assistant general manager of the New York Rangers.

Maybe gonna open a Timmy Ho's???

Or he's got the inside track on the Edmonton job.

He's got the Sather connection, but is that a good thing or bad thing in Edmonton?

Blue Jackets Ex-President for those wondering

Yes.  The Rangers asked for permission to talk with Davidson and the Jackets agreed.  Why?  Why are they not at least getting a seventh for this?  It's a lateral move for Davidson, not a step up.

New York is a step up from anywhere.

Just ask them.

Why aren't they getting compensation?  No data.

Why'd they give him permission to pursue his dream job?  Probably because you usually can't keep somebody that isn't under contract from going after their dream job.  Same way Yzerman ended up back in Detroit.

While NYC has everything big, this is actually kinda surprising to me.

Rags are almost always ranked as the most valuable franchise.  MSG's local market has over 11MM people in it.  And thereis serious money there with Wall St.

Imagine how valuable that franchise would be if they were sustainably good.

Currently Rangers are $1.55 Billion Leafs $1.45 Billion

Thank goodness there's a salary cap or the Rangers would be trying to get the best player at every position and make a team out of them. The Leafs would throw crazy money at every guy that wore their pyjamas growing up,.
