Like how hearing more voices brings new perspective on some of these kids.

ISS WHL scout who is very high on Cozens: clutch in big-game situations, with the game on the line, he finds a way.

Man it looks like there should be some nice potential available at 7.  Just praying botts gets the right guy. You know atleast one of the 5 or 6 names we keep hearing will likely bust or severely underperform.

Like Nylander?

To me those guys are Krebs, Caufield, and maybe Zegras.  I worry Zegras looks great because he is getting easier matchups as teams put their best against Turcotte and Hughes.

Yep exactly.  That’s on Murray and his scouting staff.  We can’t have another nylander level prospect come from this pick.

But Zegras played a lot of the season on the wing with Hughes.....

I might want to redo my rankings. Newhook is just special and the more I am able to find and read and watch, the more I see him as a dynamite player. I don't believe he will be Buffalo's pick at #7 but he just fascinates me to no end with the way he plays. Fast, tenacious, skillful, smart.

Quote

Boston College coach Jerry York said: “I love his hockey sense and his explosiveness. He’s a lot stronger than when you look at him at first glance. He’s got a thick, sturdy frame. He’s a dynamic young player who is going to put up a lot of numbers wherever he plays.”

Canada West director of operations Kevin Saurette, “I love his compete level. Everyone can see his skill level, his skating and the way he sees the ice. He’s hard on the forecheck, he finishes checks, his feet never stop moving. He’s a real leader on and off the ice.”

Victoria Grizzlies GM/coach Craig Didmon said: “He has great endurance, he doesn’t tire and wears his opponents down. He can attack in a variety of ways. He has great speed, a great shot on the fly and sees the ice very well. He can play 200 feet.”

Newhook said: “I take a lot of pride in my compete level. On the ice I think my best attributes are my speed and hockey IQ.”

Check out Zegras when Turcotte was hurt and Hughes was hurt and then at the WJC.

So, Pronman has made his mock based on what he’s hearing out there:

  1. Buffalo: Trevor Zegras, C, USNTDP-USHL

I have heard Cozens and Zegras as the two names rumored to the Sabres, depending on how the top six goes. Teams have speculated the preference is in that order.

He has Byrum over Turcotte for 3, Turcotte over Zegras and Dach at 4, Dach over Cozens at 5, Cozens over Podkolzin for Detroit.

He thinks the top 7 might wiggle in their order, but Pod to Detroit is the only guy he has sneaking into the top 7 that he doesn’t have there.

Caufield is at 10 and Newhook at 17 even though he says there are teams that have Alex in their top 10.

Heinola and Lassi Thompson linked to us at 31
