Tim Murray’s revenge

Murray did things the way he sought fit. Kim didn't like him because he wasn't a yes man. Murray deserved more time to prove his pan worked, but Kim is power hungry. Murray is right, she probably is a *****. She has no business running any business.

Similar situation in Sunrise with the Panthers. The owner, Vinny Viola, thought he could meddle in the everyday process of running a team. Spuddy didn't like it, so they tossed him to the curb to get a taxi for another flight. Vinny eventually realized he screwed up by going to GM by committee, and then taking Spuddy for granted. He then put Tallon back in charge, admitted his mistakes, and hasn't been seen or heard from since.

Kim should take Vinny's approach and just sit back and watch and let the professionals run the team. I hate the fact that they hired Botterill just because he's a rookie GM and thus a yes man. His last two interviews shows how much of a wimp he is.

Murray and Blysma were fired because of their horrible communication skills, not because they weren't yes men.  Murray wasn't on the same page as Blysma, and the players seemed to have no idea about what the GM was trying to accomplish.

O'Reilly, Kane, and Lehner all had off-ice issues to varying degrees, and the team management under Murray seemed incapable of handling it.

Apparently tanking has an impact on the guys in the locker room.  Who knew?

Botterill seems to have 'fixed' the issue by trading or releasing all the 'problem' guys. So, problem solved.?

Does lehner win the vezina with us this year? While we give turnover after turnover in our own zone? Hell no. Does Kane make us a cup contender? No. Does ROR win the Byng? Who knows. Maybe.

Even if the Sabres had brought in Trotz &  implemented his system, Lehner needed a change of scenery.

And he started the year still in a bit of last year mode.  He wouldn't have come out of that here IMHO even with getting the help he did in the off-season.

And, fwiw, again IMHO, Murray having arguably been right about Lehner's talent but being so poor with people skills to not realize how badly something was wrong that one of the better goalies was actually horrible is even worse that him simply having been wrong.  He WAS part of Robin's problems as he had the means & authority to help mitigate them but instead let them fester.

And yet they still can't win.

Was that really necessary?

Can you provide the story and quotes that show that Kim did not like Murray?

Can you also provide the story and quotes that show Murray called he a bad name that you cannot spell out?

Since Kim is the owner, how can she be power hungry?  Owning the team entitles you to final say on issues ....  no?  Also, why would any owner have no right to run their business?

Could it be you feel she is not competent because she is a woman?  Could you honestly answer that question?

The Lehner situation is the most intriguing.   There were periods when he played well and he had great stats.  Mostly he failed to make the timely big saves that help a team win.  His shootout record tells us a lot about his mental state. The entire situation makes me think that under Murray the players, at least the goalies, did not get proper coaching and attention to details.  the fact that no one knew how sick he was mentally, that no one knew what he was going through, this speaks volumes about the team chemistry and the entire front office.

The GM is supposed to know what is going on with his player as the players are his body of work.  Making sure they are ok on and off the ice is part of it.

Kane caused a lot of his own problems, similar to his stint in Winnipeg.   I do not think he would have stayed in Buffalo even if we tried to re-sign him.

ROR was fine as a Sabre and as a teammate.  He used the press to get out.  He knew how he felt, and he knew by saying it publicly it could be a ticket out, or at a minimum it would bring attention to correct some things.
