Looked pretty scary knowing his history. Considering he’s got a wife and I believe kids, he’s gotta big considering calling it a career. Head injuries are scary, especially the more you learn about them. Any word on whether he flew back or if they bussed/put him on a train to come home? Pretty sure flying it’s good for head injuries. I don't think he'll call it a career, not yet. But he does need to make better choices on the ice, for his own safety and piece of mind for his family. Carmel Corn
If he had 'real' teammates, somebody else would have jumped in and spared KO from the fight. Even if it meant a misconduct penalty as a result. If they really have each other's back, then you do not allow the other team to inflict damage on your teammate who can least afford to be in that position. I would not want to find myself in the same bunker with this team....they'd probably want me to take the bullet on top and hide underneath my dead carcass. 4
PASabreFan
Is there an issue with this team's medical staff?

This team was assembled with very few traditional tough guys. I don't want Skinner, Jack or Sam dropping the gloves. Same goes for Casey and Dahlin. Risto, Bogo, Girgs and Larsson will go once in a blue moon but they just don't have an overall culture of toughness. It's unfortunate as this fan base connects with the pugilists more than any other type of player. Rayzor, Kaleta, May, Barnaby, Shoney were adored by this fan base. It's disappointing that JBot didn't at least get a couple of guys who can play and throw their weight around. This town would embrace that type of team with or without winning. Yet here we are left yearning.

I hadn't put much thought into it, but it seems like Bogo was playing the protector role early in the season. Now...... after Okposo fought, Bogo's response was sort of, yeah that sucks, oh well. WHat happened?
Cityo'Rasmii
I was unable to see the game Friday against the rag boys. Was Bogo on the ice when that punk provoked Kyle? Not sure I want to know the answer. . .
Doohickie
It was hit that looked bad from Okie that started things. No penalty called, but was a hit from behind near the boards. Someone else came right up to Okie and challenged him and they both dropped their gloves. Even if Bogo was on the ice, he would not have been a factor. It all happened pretty quick.... until they dropped their gloves of course and then they didn't really do too much. I find it hard to believe Okie was injured in that. I didn't think any punches landed and after he lost his balance he got back up and tried to re-engage but the linesmen where there. I think the other guy landed a right on Kyle's chin which made him lose his balance.

My best advice to Kyle is to drop the gloves fast and start throwing, not square off at center ice.
Cityo'Rasmii
Totally agree, especially under his circumstances. . . surely love the courage and fight . . . how can we get more of that???? ahem, recruit grit like 2 players Edited February 19, 2019 by Cityo'Rasmii
Broken Ankles
Get to know your LTIR formula. Might see a Leafs/Nate Horton situation arise next year if KO does not play the remainder of this year.

Yes, he was bleeding too. I figured maybe a broken jaw, but I guess with his history best to be careful.

freester
Maybe JB deserves a bit of the blame here for assembling such a wimpy team. He got rid of our physical guys in Kane and Foligno and left us only with Bogo to intimidate. While I hope Okposo recovers quickly a LTIR for Kyle would help rid us of that onerous contract. Some folks here like to blame Jack for everything, he's not Mcdavid and he's not a leader like Toews or Messier, and he's not a intimidator like Chara but he is an awesome hockey player.
