GDT - Sabres at Blues - December 27, 2018 - 8:00 PM

Xmas is over. Hope everyone on SS got what they asked Santa for, other than a Stanley Cup, which doesn’t come in December.

Buffalo skates into STL to face their old locker room cancer, ROR. Can Sobotka and Tage show him up?

Sabres (21-11-5, 111GF and 105GA) are 4th in the Eastern out of 16 teams. Blues (14-6-4, 96GF, 114GA) are 13th out of 15 in the Western.

The Blues have dominated the Sabres for the better part of two decades. Since 1999, St. Louis has a 17-3-4 record against Buffalo, including 9-1-2 in the last 12 meetings.

The Sabres haven’t beaten the Blues in St. Louis since Dec. 27, 2009. (TAKE NOTE OF TODAYS DATE)

Game day rules have been suspended for awhile now. The ONLY game day rule that stays in effect is:

MUST WIN. The more must win comments, the better.

I won't be there to help them win, but they must win anyways.

I personally like O'Reilly (and bought his jersey). I really don't think he was the problem, he just made the mistake of being too honest in an interview. We seem to be doing well enough without him though, so I'm less upset by the trade now than I was at the time it was made.

Thanks, Andrew, for getting us off and running.

I like ROR, but he will be a great big loser tonight, along with the rest of his team that will be singing The Blues once Eich and the guys are finished with them.  Hatter for KO and a SO for Huttsie, just to keep pace with Lenus.

MUST WIN!!

GO SABRES!!

Those forwards (especially the centers) should make this team much better than they are, but then I go down to the defense and realize how good we have it with our lineup (thanks JBot!). Our Defense and Goaltending has differentiated us from other seemingly better teams on paper. I'm sure there were other fans saying the same thing about our lineup last year when we were rolling Eichel-O'Reilly as our top two and saying we should be better than last place.

Glad to have hockey back - I've missed it during the holiday break.

Christmas break is over and back to most wonderful Hockey.

I am guessing Hutton in against his old team.

Win this one and we can get back to putting together another winning steak.

Let's go Buff-a-lo!

Must win, do not want to suffer the Blues tonight.

Chris Butler? Seems like he was a Sabre a really long time ago.

Not to mention the mumified Jay Bouw... (what's his name).  Never a Sabre (yet), but still 100 years old, eh?

We're gonna spend this GDT crapping on O'Reilly and he's gonna light us up.

Some positive waves you have going there, eh?

I have no bad feelings toward ROR. I think the whole losing love for the game or his smile whatever is a bit beta. He’s still a good player even if he sometimes sounds like he wears skinny jeans with no discomfort.

Any lineup for the Sabres? I’m guessing Hutton in net.

What a let down for the Blues. I'm sure they were pumped up to play against Berglund. Oh well

Who is Berglund? Oh yeah the guy holding a spot warm for a better player to be named later.
