6 game winning streak - interesting statistic

I was doing some research and discovered that the team that is winning during the 2nd intermission has ~80% chance of coming away with 2 points.  During the Sabres 6 game winning streak, they trailed entering the 3rd in 5 of the 6 games (Tampa Bay was the lone exception).  Winning 6 straight alone is an impressive feat.  Winning 6 straight playing with your backs against the wall really makes me think this team has what it takes to make an extended run.

Note the odds of winning 5 consecutive games when trailing entering the 3rd is about 3100 to 1.

That is amazing.  They guys are good, or at least getting there.  They will be scary good when they play a complete 60 minutes and not just 35, or so.  Just imagine what there chances of winning will be like then.

This is the hope at least right?  Coming from behind like this, and playing one period of good hockey while getting wins is not sustainable.  They really haven't played a mostly complete game since the loss against the Rangers ironically.

I think the Philly game will be interesting. Both teams really bad starters and strong in the 3rd. If we could find a way to start stronger and develop a killer instinct, we might actually become a dominant team. Young team though, one step at a time. They will get there. They are only just now learning what it takes.

Yup, I'd say that sums most of it up pretty well.

As for schedule, maybe we've seen more back up goalies than we will later as teams rethink how they play us, but aside from that, spot on.
