"French Pube" for drinks and El Ninos from Mighty Taco afterwards.  Brings back memories...

Lol

You’re younger than me.  No Mighty on French Road in my day.  The Ground Round building was still standing on that site.

Mighty was originally in the plaza across the street.  That was while TGR was still open.

Changing the policy about peanut shells to the floor doomed it IMHO.  Probably wasn't open more than 1 year after you couldn't throw peanut shells on the floor.

Why in the hell don't I remember that?

EDIT- my wife, who is also from that area, does not remember a Mighty Taco across from the old Ground Round while we were dating.  Could it be that it opened 1990ish when we were already moved out?

Our late night/early morning Mighty Taco experiences were typically at the Union Road location near the Town and Country restaurant, where Guitar Center is now.

I'd say that one opened ~'88.  Which was also around when TGR closed.  That 1st Mighty was open before the Topps went in on Transit across from French.

I was definitely gone before Tops moved.  But I was still in the neighborhood in 88. Moved in 90.

Maybeit was '90 the 1st French Rd Mighty went in.  Was definitely there before I left Texas which was late '91 because would stop there on the way to the airport.  Really thought that Mighty was there before I moved.

Death first!

I'd watch this movie: Eleven is on a flight to Bolivia to watch his beloved, uh, Bogota United?, and the plane goes down. He and a male flight attendant, a Capitals season ticket holder from the 90s, are the sole survivors. They quickly find a box of Mighty Alpo Grandés in the cargo hold. Soon, the fire is roaring.

Nah, the problem is college kids like Taco Bell.

I worked at both mighty and bell in college... you couldn't pay me enough to eat Taco bell. The stuff we found in the beef was bad.  But yeah. The college kids couldn't get enough of it.

33 year old, grown ass men like Taco Bell!

The test for Taco Bell is this:  if you're old enough not to wear Axe, you're old enough to avoid Taco Bell.

Otherwise, get on your skateboard, Do the Dew, and Live Mas, bro!

If your old enough to wear Axe, and you wear Axe, chuck yourself in front of a bus! No one should have to smell that.

That's because they picked a horrible location for it.  It needed to be close to bars not dying shopping plazas.

The Henrietta one was an awful location. The one on Ridgeway, most of the stores in that plaza do fairly decent (DiBellas, Bella Pasta), and Philly Steakout right across the street. You’re right though, they needed to be more accessible to higher volume of drunks.

I never went to either one when they were here, but I used to peruse the Buffalo ones after concerts back in my drinking days.
