I wonder if there is any thought to dangling a first round pick for Torontos goalie Sparks

We are just getting to the point where I dont see the "Tim Murray is a giant moron for trading a 1st for Lehner" posts. Now you want to start the whole process over again. My psyche cant handle it.

At the time of the Lehner trade, he was about 24 years old and had an established NHL save % track record of about 91.5% over parts of three seasons. His Calder Cup winning 93.8% save % season in the AHL was already two years in the past.

Right now, Sparks is about 25 years old, has just come off a Calder Cup winning 93.6% save % season in the AHL, and has only shown am 89.3% NHL save percentage when given 17 games in the '15-'16 season.

So, assuming it's a late 1st round pick (like it was for Lehner) and most people hated the Lehner trade at the time and since, it seems like this would be a bad idea since Sparks resume is slightly weaker than Lehner's was at the time.

25 is kind of old to give up a first rounder for. But that comparison doesn't include the fact Sparks probably isn't bi-polar.

Could be looking at the opening lineup with a few changes.
