I was watching the Spy Who Loved Me on TV and the Ski Jump off the mountain into a Union Jack parachute maybe one of the most spectacular ever in a Bond movie.  However it also got me thinking about the Bond Movies.  So I thought I'd ask.

1) What is your favorite Bond movie?

2) What is the best Bond movie?

3) Who is/was the best James Bond?

4) Who is/was the best villan?

5) Who is the hottest co-star?

6) What was the best stunt in a Bond film?

7) What is the best gadget in a Bond film?

Edit:

8.) Best song - it does not have to be the theme song

9) Best character name other then Octopussy.

10) Worst Bond Film?

My favorite James Bond is Sean Connery by a mile.  My favorite movie is probably Dr. No or Goldfinger.

Goldfinger might be my favorite villain, but there are many to choose from.  Hugo Drax, Blofeld, Scaramanga, Dr. Julius No....they're all great.

The ridiculous over the top stunts are my least favorite aspect of Bond movies, which is why I tend to like the early ones the most.

Bond in a tuxedo, wearing his Rolex Submariner and drinking Bollinger champagne while gambling in the casino in Monaco and exchanging witty lines with his foes is what those movies are all about!

I hated the movies when Bond drove a freaking BMW...sure it was paid product placement, but it was just so wrong!

I loved the Lotus Esprit era at the time but that is now horribly dated.

Ultimately, his best car was the old Aston DB5.

Being a true afficionado but too young to fully appreciate the Connery Bond movies when they came out:

1. Goldeneye.  "I am eenvincccable!"

2.  Live & Let Die.  (Oh, you were looking for the best film, not just title song?  We'll stick w/ it for now, but might change the answer later.)

3.  Daniel Craig.  Pretty sure that Fleming would say Timothy Dalton, but considering only Ian and Timmy's mom would vote that way, went w/ Craig.  Serious bad arse.

4. Ernst Stavro Blofeld.  Not even debatable.

5.  Seriously tough call.  Will go w/ Plenty O'Toole but could be wrong.  (Which reminds us of the great joke from the early '80's.  What wood doesn't float?  Natalie. :p)

6.  Stunt: getting the airplane up in Goldeneye.

7.  Daniela Bianchi.  Would definitely like to inspect her gadget. ;)

1) What is your favorite Bond movie?  Live and Let Die.

2) What is the best Bond movie?  Same.

3) Who is/was the best James Bond?  Connery, but only because he got much better plots than Craig.

4) Who is/was the best villan?  Blofeld by a mile.

5) Who is the hottest co-star?   Jane Seymour or Barbara Bach.

6) What was the best stunt in a Bond film?  Any of the boat chases.

7) What is the best gadget in a Bond film?  I'm gonna go off the map with this one and pick a villain's gadget.  The Golden Gun.

Best Bond theme song: "You Know My Name" from Casino Royale.  After that, Goldfinger has always stuck out in my mind the most, yes, even more than Live and Let Die.

Carly Simon's Nobody Does It Better.  Or even McCartney's Live and Let Die.

No question I should have listed best song as the 8th quesion. I even like your choice of song.  I’m adding a 9th question as well; best character name.

1) What is your favorite Bond movie? General Veers, Boba Fett, and Lobot were all in For Your Eyes Only, and bonus points for the goofy hockey fight. But my personal favorite is You Only Live Twice. 10 year-old Ebriate was smitten by fake volcano fortresses and ninjas.

2) What is the best Bond movie? Original times: From Russia With Love  Modern: Casino Royale

3) Who is/was the best James Bond? Connery

4) Who is/was the best villain? Blofeld

5) Who is the hottest co-star? Denise Richards. But more appropriately, the question of which Bond girl is the best combination of character, actions/decisions given the circumstances, and loveliness? I'm torn between Vesper Lynd and Natalya Simonova. Probably Vesper.

6) What was the best stunt in a Bond film? Attack via hot air balloon... they'll never see it coming!

7) What is the best gadget in a Bond film? Jaws? Nah...submersible Lotus. Props to the most convoluted gadget paired with a character trait for plot fun - ballpoint pen bomb

1) What is your favorite Bond movie? - From Russia With Love

2) What is the best Bond movie? - Casino Royale (Daniel Craig version)

3) Who is/was the best James Bond? - Connery, but Craig is a close second

4) Who is/was the best villan? - Which Blofeld? Christoph Waltz as Blofeld in Spectre.  In the female villian catagory Sophie Marceau’s Elektra King.

5) Who is the hottest co-star?  I have 3 favorites, Eva Green, Danielle Banachi, but Lea Seydoux in the silver/gray dress on the train. Also like Rosamund Pike.

6) What was the best stunt in a Bond film? The ski jump off the cliff in the Spy Who Loved Me

7) What is the best gadget in a Bond film? The Aston Martin, but I also love the exploding pen in Golden Eye

Edit:

8.) Best song - it does not have to be the theme song.  Live and Let Die, followed by You Know My Name and then We Have All The Time In the World.  Also nod to the iconic  007 Theme Song.

9) Best character name other then Octopussy. Dr Goodhead (Moonraker) and Chew Mee (cameo in The Man With The Golden Gun)

10) Worst Bond Film? Tie Moonraker and A View To A Kill.

By the way Best Film vs Favorite Film. They can be the same, but I think of the Best film as the one that could stand alone on it’s own without having any knowledge of Bond or the film series and still be great.

The sad thing is the On Her Majesty’s Secret Service would be a great Bond film if it had anyone but George Lazenby as Bond.  Rigg was great as the love interest.  Savalas was excellent as Blofeld.  Louis Armstrong’s song added the right mood for the end.  Great action, great locations, decent plot.  If only Lazenby could act.

There's a reason why the rest of his acting career was sitting next to Emmanuelle on the plane.

Darth, nice picks.

I’ve also added a worst bond film catagory.

8.) Best song - it does not have to be the theme song.   But it is the theme song. The big brass embellishments. The old-school hollow body. It is Bond. And the sound pretty well came to define the entire spy genre.

9) Best character name other then Octopussy. I had to look some of these up...  Strawberry Fields. Molly Warmflash? I don't remember her. May Day! Who knew that Rick Jeanneret was such a huge Grace Jones fan? But I've got to go with Honey Ryder. It's so bad.

10) Worst Bond Film? Moonraker. I'm kind of an authority on this subject: just because a movie takes place in space and is trying to ride on the coattails of Star Wars doesn't make it a good idea. Moonraker is difficult to watch.

Favorite: Skyfall

Best: Thunderball

Bond: Connery/Craig in a dead tie

Villan: Scarmanga!!!!        but Blofeld was pretty darn good.

Bond Girl: Ursula Andress!

Stunt: Ski, cliff, union jack

Song: Sheena Easton-For Your Eyes Only. I love female sung Bond songs. Adele comes in second with Skyfall

Gadget: The watch. It's always the watch.

Name: Christmas Jones

Worst: Die Another Day. But I'll still watch it. Stupid invisible car.

1) What is your favorite Bond movie?

From each Era: Dr. No, A View to a Kill, Goldeneye, and Skyfall.  I also like the hilarity of Moonraker, despite knowing that many people hate it for riding the Star Wars effects train.

2) What is the best Bond movie?

Objectively, Casino Royale (2006) might be the best film.

3) Who is/was the best James Bond?

Growing up, I liked the goofiness of Roger Moore.  Then I grew to respect Sean Connery for his original definition of the character, but looking back at the early films, many of them haven't aged well with the over-the-top sexism.  Now, it's clear that Daniel Craig is the best actor.

4) Who is/was the best villan?

I love Richard Kiel (actor who played Jaws), even though they turned him into a cartoon character later on.  I also really, really liked the evil duo of Max Zorin and Mayday (Christopher Walken and Grace Jones).

5) Who is the hottest co-star?

Many to choose from.  Ursula Andress was an instant sex symbol.  Denise Richards was in her prime, but her portrayal of Dr. Christmas Jones, Nuclear Physicist was absolutely ridiculous.  Carole Bouquet (For Your Eyes Only) was gorgeous.

6) What was the best stunt in a Bond film?

Many were good, but I always liked the car jump from Man With the Golden Gun.  The base jump off the dam in Goldeneye was also good.

7) What is the best gadget in a Bond film?

Give me a gun and a radio.  Invisible cars are stupid.

Edit:

8.) Best song - it does not have to be the theme song

A View to a Kill (Duran Duran) and Know My Name (Chris Cornell) stand out.

9) Best character name other then Octopussy.

Oddjob. Having the short-stature servant called by his job title is funny to me.

10) Worst Bond Film?

A lot of people hate on Moonraker, but it's enjoyably campy to me.  I hate hate hate On Her Majesty's Secret Service and George Lazenby's stupid face.

4) Who is/was the best villan?  Jaws old school, Famke Janssen as Xenia Onatopp new school

5) Who is the hottest co-star?   It's the red hair.  Jill St. John  as Tiffany Case
