He definitely was trained as a boxer.  Had thought that happened when he was older (like when he was an AHLer) but not positive about that.

I think Huckleberry's thinking of Evander Kane, whose father was a boxer and trained him as a kid.  

Emery was just nuts, and had boxers on his mask.

He had played a little bit of JR B hockey here in Welland before being drafted to the Greyhounds in the OHL. There was an article in the paper here talking to a scout from here who said he had a lot of penalty minutes and liked hockey fights, but usually that didnt last because after a few fights no one would want to fight him anymore.
