If Karin (and Phil) were democrats....

  1. Would they have hired him in the first place?
  2. Would they have hosted a party and donated money to her campaign?
  3. Would Phil have been fired by now?

...these are the questions that are raised, and seeing how fervently they're supporting her.... it's like the answer to the first question is "No".

I'm not going to quote that huge table but what's the deal with the multiple contributions of the same amount ($1,000 or $2,700) being made by the same person on the same day? I assume $2,700 is some sort of a limit but if that's the case why were Terry and Kim eligible to donate $2,700 on December 31st so many damn times? Did they make donations in the name of each kid? Pets? etc. Or was there some sort of error when it was copy/pasted? And if it's donated to some PAC that has no limit why not just donate $30,000 all in one shot instead of a dozen times in $2,700 increments?

Election law is notoriously technical. I'm sure there are reasons for the contributions being in the amounts and number they were.

Yep. That's why lawyers are involved every of the way and both sides are usually corrupt.

1.  Yes.  Almost all of us were incredibly excited when he was a candidate for the job, and I'm sure the owners were, too.

2.  Very possibly.  Like I've said elsewhere, I've gone to plenty of fundraisers for candidates whom I don't like, because colleagues need a "showing up," and colleagues have done fhe same for candidates they don't like, too.  This is just a couple with access doing a favor for a key employee.  And also possibly not.

3.  Almost certainly not.

This is a bit of a "long view," but very worthwhile if you have the time.

This is NFL player Eric Reid explaining why he's got a problem with fellow NFL player Malcolm Jenkins. Note well how Terry Pegula's name comes up -- a couple of times -- as having told the NFL players in a widely reported meeting that the league needed a "black figurehead" to step forward and help rehabilitate the league (read: white owners (Kim Pegula notwithstanding (that's my snarky take, by the way - there's no mention of Kim Pegula in the clip))) in the eyes of its sponsors and other stakeholders relative to the players' pregame protests.

Launch Terry Pegula into the freakin' sun for all I care at this point.

That's an interesting video to watch... thanks for sharing.

It's definitely not painting a pretty picture of Terry Pegula. I'd love to hear what he has to say about those comments.

I mean this with respect: I can't think of anything I'd be less interested in hearing than that fracking oil man try to explain or contextualize those comments.

I understand what you are saying. However, it's a single side of a story.  It certainly comes across as genuine and I'm not necessarily inclined to disbelieve him.  That said, I believe it would be in the best interest of gauging the reality of the situation by hearing what he has to say.  Even if it comes across as completely polished and unbelievable BS.

I can't say I've ever found polished and unbelievable BS to elucidate a gotdam thing. That goes doubly when it's coming from a billionaire.

Thank you for your contribution to the discussion @Hank.

The thread's title might have tipped you off to what's going on here.

Nope, nothing to contribute. Just felt like throwing a little snark your way ?.  All in good fun my friend!

It eliminates any potential counter of "You didn't hear my side of the story.".

The sky is blue, water is wet, Aud is bitching about Pegula. Nothing to see here.

Hank - let's dial back the snark and make contributions to the discussion.  It'll be helpful.
