Have been with GEICO for well over a decade.  Being a former federal employee (GEICO stands for Government Employees Insurance Company), I got a good discount that carried through into retirement.  Haven't found anywhere cheaper but haven't really looked in years.  You can save even more to bundle insurance.  I have Auto, Renters, Homeowners, Jewelry rider, and Umbrella.

One "claim" being a windshield chip repair.  No hassle at all and at no cost.  The app is good.

My good friend is an insurance agent and I've told him no way I'm leaving GEICO.

I ran a quote this morning for it and I'm pretty much decided that I'm going to switch. I just need some more info from them on the details of this "pre-insurance inspection" they need me to do. The backup camera on my car is inoperable but I doubt that'll affect my coverage too much. At any rate my current coverage is unacceptable.

I canceled geico because I had bad experiences with them.

A state goverment water truck hit my car, he admitted he hit my car to the police. It was on the police report and geico decided to make it a no fault so I had to pay my deductible. There was another but it's too. They had the best rates until I needed to use it, then all the savings was lost in deductibles

NJ may be a no fault state.  I know that NY is.

A quick gooogling says NJ is also a no fault state.

It is done. After 15 years as a Nationwide customer it was simply not worth it to continue. I'm getting a better policy through Geico for nearly half the cost.

I admire your loyalty but have no delusion that they reciprocate the sentiment. I had a rockstar home/2 car bundle for years for nothing...two parking lot bumps(only one of which was on me) and they dropped me like a hot potato.

I’m bundled with another company but it’s far more than I had. Get yourself an agent. They’ll smurf out a better policy for you. That’s what these people live for.

I'll probably go the agent route once Geico inevitably raises my rates, but it'll take quite a few hikes to shake me loose. I'm going from paying $150/mo to $80/mo for a BETTER policy, so they've got a lot of ground to cover before I get annoyed lol

My friend works for allstate and when I bought my house last year the mortgage company worked through allstate, a gal from Rochester called me up and we made a policy for my car/home, etc.... I was like oh cool... As I switched auto from geico years ago for a better deal.

My friend saw my name accidently and called me, apparently the coverage I got sucked and the office that hooked up with premium mortgage poaches customers and gives them ***** policies, after 25 min on the phone with her, she bundled my car/auto/motorcycle, got me an umbrella policy for financial safety considering my profession, basement flood protection, etc and I was much less than the crap the other office got me.

I am seeing significant savings and much much better protection and coverages with allstate, more than I ever have in my life with previous state farm and geico. It sucks that these offices still exist and are getting kickbacks from other companies and knowing that the literature of these policies is difficult to digest.

If anyone is really unhappy with their insurance, my friend, she is a really good person and will give you honest quotes with allstate, let me know and I'll get you in contact with her. ?
