Good detail here. Defender must put stick down first on all faceoffs. I really like that rule.

This is an interesting point buried in the writeup:

"Clubs who pull their goaltender for an extra attacker during the

overtime period (other than on a delayed penalty) will be subject to

the potential forfeiture of their one (1) point earned for the tie at

the end of regulation in the event the opposing team scores into the

      empty net."

Hasn't that been the case for some time now?

So, I'm not the only one learning big things today.

Has it ever happened?  I don't think I have ever seen it live or reported on..  I can only envision one reason for doing it.  An ABSOLUTE must win.  Seems crazy to legislate out what is highly unlikely to begin with.

This morning I think we can honestly say the hockey world ( specifically players ) has taken notice of what they're doing in Buffalo. That is hugely significant moving forward. They said they would make Buffalo a destination and I think draft day 1 went a long way towards doing that.

It does seem a little silly. The only time it would make sense if it's the last game of the year and a shootout win only ties you in points with a team getting into the playoffs but they have the same number of ROWs as you but would win the tiebreaker so you have to get one more ROW to get in.

That happens all the time, doesn't it?

Could see the Yotes doing it in game 81 or 82 if it's an absolute must lose. ;)
