Concerts you plan to attend this year

I'm just not into concerts as much as I was in the past.

Not sure if its me getting older, or something else. But as a teenage I went to a bunch each year.  Through the next 10-15 years, maybe 1-3 per year. Now, I haven't been to one in a couple of years, and nothing really gets me excited for one.

I think I have come to realize I may be in the minority, but when I like a song or a type of music, I like listening to the clean studio version, high bit-rate or cd quality, through a good set of speakers or headphones....vs seeing the performers in person.  The 'sound' of a concert doesn't appeal to me.  

And I get there is something appealing about seeing a person peform live in front of you, but I have seen too many shows where the pefromance wasn't really 'live', but part, if not most of it was pre-recorded with the performers just going through the motions (Saw Def Lepard about a decade ago and their 'live' performance just seemed too much like the studio version...and I can't forget a long time ago seeing Van Halen. Eddie Van Halen started his guitar solo, look like his back locked up and he stopped playing his solo momentarily, yet for 2-3 seconds that he stopped 'playing' the sound of a guitar still filled the arena)

Not exactly.  The GA seats are sold out for Friday.  I MIGHT have an extra seat.  Should know in about an hour.

GA+ was available as of this morning. But the free tix are all gone. I did the + because I wanted a more elevated bathroom experience. I guess I’m bougie now.

GA+ were available as of about an hour ago.  Can drop $40 on those 3 bands (plus whoever is at the other stage); can't justify $150 per ticket for the "VIP experience."

i'm a firm believer that people are always better than the worst thing(s) they've done. he appears to have taken accountability for the mistake(s) he made. so he can go back to being america's rock 'n roll dad, afaic.

Agree.  And to be quite honest, after reading about the affair, as I wasn’t hip to it, the only thing I think Grohl disrespected was the rules established in OPP by NBN.  

“Now when you do it, do it well and make sure that it counts.  You're now down with a discount.”

I would expect Grohl, a significant member in the pantheon of rock stars could do better than a tawdry concubine as his mistress.  It’s like trading in your 2018 Mercedes 500 for a 2024 Hyundai Elantra.

Going to see Sublime this weekend at CMAC.  Last year was amazing so I'm trying not to expect too much, but it will be fun nonetheless.  The Ataris and Bedouin Soundclash are opening.  Grabbed pit tickets this year since the lawn was packed last time. 

I definitely recommend checking them out to anyone on the fence about going.

I'm headed to this one too.  Curious how Brad's son is doing with the band.  I've heard that Bud/Eric are like zombies up there at this point.

1. Alison Krauss & Union Station (AMAZING!)

2. Harry Connick, Jr. (AMAZING!!!)

3.The Revivalists (Good)

Lots of Zakk Wilde at Riverworks last night.  Zakk Sabath and Black Label Society were the two main bands.  Dark Chapel opened.

It was a good show.  Oldest crowd Ive seen outside of a Batavia Downs concert crowd.  Definitely an Ozzy type crowd.

 All 3 bands put on a good show.  Energy level was pretty good.  A group of younger fans even got a respectable mosh going during the BLS set.

Saw Gov't Mule in Vail last weekend. The Gerald Ford Amphitheater (The AMP) is perhaps the finest venue I have ever seen a concert. Royal Albert Hall is up there, the Beacon Theater in New York as well.  But those are indoor. For outdoor venues it surpasses (in my opinion only) Red Rocks, SPAC, Pine Knob, and Dillon Amphitheater, to name a few of my favorites thus far.  The venue is set in a hollow surrounded by Aspens and next to a creek. You walk through a park setting to get there. Seating is comfortable with excellent site lines in both the covered section and on the terraced grass GA section (terraced with massive rocks). Sound quality is outstanding, the ambience is very pleasant, and it's easy to move around. I didn't get any food or drink there but it looked like there were several good options.

Not a concert, but I got my ticket for the Sabres game in Dallas in November.  Will be sitting next to @Spoonman, and behind a friend of ours who will be there with his family.
