X. Benedict
Andrew Cogliano has signed a three-year extension with the Ducks. Avoids arbitration. $2.15 $2.35 $2.67 Fans in Anaheim.... First 40 games...."Why is he so fast?" Next 80 games....."Why can't he do anything with all that speed?" Next 120 games...."Why is he on the roster?" Jets avoid arbitration by signing Blake Wheeler. 2-year deal - $5.1M total. That's a nice deal. His best hockey is yet to come. Chris Osgood retires. .....and joins AARP on the same day.
carpandean
Not really a better place to put this, so it goes here. TSN has a video of the top-10 most creative goals and Max's out-of-control spin in front of the goalie goal was #2. There were some other pretty amazing ones in there. spndnchz
In other news.... heard Mike Grier has successful wrist surgery over the summer. His agent says that he's looking outside of Buffalo too. Not that he doesn't want to play here. My take: He's talked to DR and realized Sabres don't need him. Do you honestly see him going anywhere else this year though? I'm not saying we will re-sign him, just saying that I don't think he'll play for anyone else. He did himself a favor, too. It makes it easier for a team to take him in a trade once he gets sick of playing hockey in Tampa.
