I heard they recorded alternate takes of this song with Pete and Roger singing lead and the producer decided Pete's vocals suited the song better (song was written by Townshend).  EDIT:  Roger's version although it has Pete singing a verse.

This song is commonly cited as proof of Pete Townshend being bisexual or completely homosexual. In reality, the song was written for Bette Midler who never ended up recording it. The rumor as to why it was never recorded is that the song was too overtly sexual for her tastes, the lyrics being erotic rather than camp in their sexuality.

June 5th was Ellen Folye's 75th birthday.

I am a big fan.  She is one of the best singers out there.

She was the woman on Paradise by the Dashboard Light ... in the video the woman is lip syncing to the recoded (Ellen) track.

She was Billie on Night Court for a season.

She had a relationship with Mick Jones in the early 80s.  She sang on Hitsville Hits UK on the Sandinista album.

Jones produced Ellen's second album and he sang on a few tracks that he and Joe Strummer wrote for that album - often described as the 4th side of Sandinista.

The Clash played on this tune.

The story goes that the great Clash tune ... Should I Stay or Should I Go ... was written by Jones about his turbulent relationship with Ellen - this has not been confirmed by either, but the timong is right.

Breakfast in America is more than The Logical Song.  I wish they'd play other songs from the album.

A very underrated Band and not just this album

They were one of my faves from Crime of the Century through Breakfast in America.  Breakfast sounded like the commercial sellout that so many bands do, and even with the hits that came off that album they really don't sound like any other band so I'll give them them that.

It seems an underlying theme in Breakfast was the tension between Davies and Hodgson, the primary vocalists and creative drivers.  Hodgson stayed for one more album but then left the band.  He supposedly didn't have a falling out but the music says otherwise, at least to me.
