  1. I'm trying to ascertain what the hard-core Buffalo Sabre hockey minds think. Reading all the comments left me confused. This mite be a way of reducing complexity.
  2. Opinions differ. I go back and forth on this one. I'm leaning towards no, but I also think anything can happen.
  3. Just heard that Tampa Bay has sent D Braydon Coburn, Cedric Paquette and a 2022 second-round pick from the Tampa Bay Lightning, in exchange for Marian Gaborik and Anders Nilsson. Of oucrse both Bagorik and Nilsson are and will remain on long-term injured reserve meaning they do not count against the cap. Ottawa get two half-descent players that will help their lineup but really it is just a way Tampa Bay to shed salary. I think this kind of trade should not be allowed as it is not a hockey trade. Tampa clearly gains nothing but cap space which does not equal a hockey trade where both sides benefit on the ice where it should matter. Should this kind of trade be allowed???
  4. A net recap of Botterill’s 2018 trades: O’Reilly, Kane, Pu, Fasching, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th for Skinner, Sheary, Berglund, Sobotka, Thompson, Hickey, O’Regan, Hunwick and two 1sts, 2nd, 4th. He also effectively swapped Lehner for Hutton.
  5. The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has acquired defenseman Brandon Hickey from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for forward Hudson Fasching.
