  2. The Buffalo Memorial Auditorium was everything to my dad as a kid. He loved game nights sitting up top in those orange seats and feeling the entire aud rumble due to erupting fans when the Sabres scored a goal. He had an orange seat that was stolen from our house and he was crushed. I have looked everywhere to find one and I am striking out. If anyone knows of ANY orange section AUD seats please contact me. autumn.danny3@yahoo.com
  3. It’s that time of year. The one day we as Americans can justify having that extra slice of pie as though it’s not what we always do. I just wanna take this time to share with my fellow Sabrespace cadets what I’m thankful for. Please feel free to join me. If you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving please join in anyway. It’s like in those movies in your parents top drawer, the more the merrier. 1. I’d go to hell for not saying family. However I want to be specific and say wife and kids. If the roles were reversed and they put me through half the stuff I put them through I’d be getting alimony. 2. Hockey. Perhaps the most dangerous sport because you know razor blades on feet and all. It is culturally diverse. We take people from other countries, get them visas, put them to work and if they step out of line, their “employer” takes their money. Some might say it sounds like human trafficking. I say shut your mouth. 3. Lastly, the Buffalo Sabres. Most people have multiple stressors that cause high blood pressure, depression and general wondering of what’s the point. The Sabres do all that and more for us, the fans. We have a coach who loves the game so much he never took time away from it to play some weird sport like soccer or something. Our GM with the foresight to make bold moves to bring respect back to an organization with a rich history of winning....stuff. To all of you Happy Thanksgiving! Those of you who don’t eat yourselves into a coma I will see you in the Toronto GDT. For you brave souls wondering into the Oval Office thread, I’m putting the foil on boys (or girls or whatever you feel like). ?
  4. I think its time to thank Sabrespacers for their support and generosity in supporting me through this trying time dealing with bladder cancer and rough chemo therapy. I am truly grateful for 50th anniversary jersey its awesome, and plan to pay for and Sabres Rangers game at MSG on Feb 7 with my family. Any left over funds I would like to donate to a bladder cancer research. I am slowly improving, and prognosis good. I will keep you informed. Moral of story get checked and get second opinion. Again Thank You... I am floored!
  5. Advanced Tickets are on sale now. The Final Trailer debuts at halftime of MNF on ESPN
  6. Anyone else like messing about with photos etc? Shall we make a repository? I present "King Ralph".
  7. I'm having trouble making a lineup decision. I have Mahomes in both my leagues with Lamar Jackson as the backup in one league and Dak Prescott as the backup in the other. The question for today is Mahomes faces the good Baltimore D while Prescott faces the horrible Dolphins. The computer projections have Prescott as the better starter for this week, but can you ever really bench Mahomes? I'm just not sure.
  8. I swear we had a topic like this before, but I couldn't find it in a search. Anyways, new skyway plans: https://www.wkbw.com/news/local-news/city-of-lights-wins-skyway-redesign-will-remove-skyway Pretty cool if they get it done. Color me skeptical, but I like the idea. Sucks for people who live in hamburg, but other than that I think it'll be a good thing.
  9. I hear people saying such and such number isn't a good number etc. Or certain nos should be reserved for Fwds or D. Anyhoo, what's your favoured number? Me its Def 26. Two main reasons... Dahlin was a highlight of my first season watching sabres hockey and Matt Beca of the Glasgow Clan who seems to score at each match I get to go to!

    OT: internet

I pay $99 a month for a gig. I have a TV, PS4 an a shield hardwired. I have four TVs, two laptops, two PS4s, two tablets, one X-Box and five smart phones connected to the WiFi. Between kids, grandkids, the wife and myself, all devices are sometimes used at the same time for gaming and streaming movies/sports. Question 1: am I paying too much for the gig? Question 2: could I get by with a lower service?
  11. It can't be discussed in the memorial thread so here goes...
  12. Do we have many UK hockey followers here? We (Clan) just out our head coach Pete Russell (teamGB coach). This sucks.
  13. This topic popped into my head this morning. I thought it could be an interesting one. Which sports venues have you been to? I'm thinking mainly the big 4, but feel free to throw in any other sports or colleges you'd like. I'm going to list college hockey since I've been to a bunch. NHL (8): Buffalo (Aud), Buffalo (KBC), Boston, St. Louis, Denver, MSG, Washington, Detroit (JLA) NFL (3): Buffalo, Miami, Detroit (granted, it was for a hockey game) MLB (5): Fenway, St. Louis, Detroit, Cleveland, Baltimore College hockey (14): BU (x2), BC, Northeastern, Providence, UNH, Maine, UMASS Lowell, Dartmouth, Yale, Brown, Harvard, Denver, Niagara Edit: I've also been to a bunch of AHL arenas, but not for AHL games. Editx2: I supposed I've also been in some bouncyball arenas, but only for hockey games.
  14. Watching some baseball and I always wondered why Buffalo doesn’t have an MLB team. I would guess lots of Buffalonians like baseball. Having a team in Toronto doesn’t hurt the Sabres so I can’t imagine negative market sharing. It would give us three different ways to bring a championship to Buffalo too. Only thing we need to make sure is the Pegulas don’t own it. Appreciate everyone’s thoughts on the why and likelihood it ever happens.
  15. Went there on my honeymoon for 13 days and am looking to return. Want to take the teenage kids this summer to celebrate some stuff... We technically have 16.5 max to use on travel (Fri night to a Sun night). That is probably enough time for 2 islands. I could also see one island and maybe some time in San Francisco/California for variety. Any big travelers here want to pontificate on their Hawaiian experiences? Suggestions?
  16. Taking over the University of Alabama HC Position
  17. This is kind of a useless topic, but I just noticed The Aud Club has a million posts and I thought it was neat.
  18. My oldest has been applying year. So far, he has been accepted at: University of Rochester University of Maryland University of Miami University of Florida Pitt Penn State Virginia Tech He has no preference to date. Anyone else going through the process?
  19. I just signed up to the club again to put this in here and see if anyone has any thoughts on it. +++++ Canadians are very easy going and tend to be rather lazy when digging for information. Our politicians and politics reflect this and there are not very many real scandals. Until now. Here are some links to the story ... https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/gerald-butts-opposition-parliamentary-probe-1.5023941 https://www.cbc.ca/news/opinion/gerald-butts-1.5023925 https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-wilson-raybould-snc-lavalin-1.5021220 https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-wilson-raybould-attorney-general-snc-lavalin-1.5014271 This is huge and it is not going away. In fact, every day it just is worse and worse for our Prime Minister. This could very well be his undoing.
  20. This is pretty funny. I’m sure there are ones about Republicans too. If I find one I’ll post it.
  21. With Kamala Harris announcing she is running today. Senator from Cal and former Attny Gen of Cal thought it was a good time to put together a list of announced and rumored hopefuls and discuss them. List link: https://abc7news.com/politics/whos-running-for-president-in-2020-list-of-possible-dem-candidates/5047818/
  22. I'm in the class of 2007 so I have a few more years before I get a thread, but there's a bunch of you out there who have already celebrated 10 years as a poster on this forum! How many of you haven't yet, or are about to? Who among the class of 2005 are no longer with us? http://forums.sabrespace.com/members/?sort_key=joined&sort_order=asc&max_results=20&sort_key=joined Perhaps some superlatives are in order?
  23. I'm a new season ticket holder (only four years on the waiting list, I thought it would be much longer) and like many season ticket holders, I'm looking to sell some of my seats. Looking for advice from some of you who do the same. It seems like stub hub milks both the buyer and seller for fees and I'm unsure about Craigslist. Any advice? BTW, there in section 114 row 8 and I split the tickets with someone so I don't have all the games. Thanks
  24. The Sabres & Bills doubleheader today got me thinking…did the Sabres, Bills and Braves ever win all on the same day? Also trying to recall, did the Braves and Sabres ever play on the same day in the Aud? Enquiring minds want to know? 😊
  25. i saw on shop.nhl.com they had a coupon that said 20% off sitewide + free shipping on orders 50+, some exclusions apply. the exclusions were the typical, jerseys, specialty items, but at the end it said "other". hmm, other? i tried a sweatshirt which i really liked. i added it to the cart, hit the coupon it said. this item doesnt apply. it matched the criteria for what should have worked but it didnt. i tried a different shirt, again, it didnt work. finally i added about 25 to 30 shirts/sweatshirts to my cart, making sure that all of them matched the criteria for the coupon eligibility. The total bill was 1200 dollars, which as we all know 20% off should be 240 dollars. i added the coupon. 5 dollars off. i didnt want to bother to figure out which item actually worked, but it is such nonsense false advertising that almost all of the items did not accept the coupon. i called NHL shop support, and the lady was nice enough to tell me that not everything will work for the coupon, and she cant help me. i felt pretty pleased. needless to say i didnt order from them. i was able to find a couple of hockey tshirts in my size from amazon for 6 dollars, and even a springtime coat for 14 dollars, so it wasnt all bad.
