He needs to bury those chances or he’s just another “almost got it” guys.
The discussion was about Ukka Pekka Luukkonen

Did Macavoy not have his hearing yet? Did nothing come of it?

How big?
Do you want to toss out fans who thought the Sabres were going to lose when they went down 2-1?
Faith!
Some even want to call out those lost hope back in November. That was virtually everyone on this board.
Do you see that meme as gatekeeping? Do you really think a meme like that is going to lock fans out of rooting for the Sabres?

Sabres played tough D... boxed out down low plays... Habs dont like to shoot from the point... they finally figured that out... keep it rolling Sat in Buffalo.
I think with his size and his lateral mobility, Oopie's game is naturally better at stopping the Habs down low.

There's no room for this. Someone could have a lot of fun combing thru 15 years of posts here. If you love the Sabres, you're a fan. Pessimist optimist whatever. The tent should be big.

I was always excited about this goalie tandem and knew we would need both
We really have a special situation going here. One guy falters, next man up. Then the falters and they go back to the guy who had the weak game and he's ready to go. This might be the new utilization for goalies in the league, to have two guys you have confidence in that can truly back each other up.

when every shot goes his way it always seems more like a scramble than a confident goalie.

Greenway was brilliant.
This was the kind of game where his talent, effort and size shines through.

I don't think the Sabres win that game with Lyon in net.
The Habs like the back door play. Oopie is long enough to stop the cross pass and/or get to the post to close off the back door. I think that right there was the margin of victory.

I almost mentioned Ellis. I think carrying the third goalie this year, with the compressed schedule due to the Olympics, was very much in the Sabres favor. And Ellis might be a keeper!
