  1. agreed. last season at this point, they went sideways for a month. I am assuming, if healthy, that does not happen between now and year end. Goaltending is better, that should make most of the difference. then they get Quinn back.
  2. Put 15 lbs of muscle on him (a half a dozen Sabres need this, btw) and give him decent linemates... then and only then can he be assessed. The first item he can control, the second, not sure that will happen. He probably is an throw in, in a trade for a top D with a team short on centers. Unfortunate, but whatever.
  3. yes, you are. relax, no coaching revolving door please. Levi will plug the hole in goal and all will be well.
  4. Let's see what we have in Levi for the remainder of the season and go from there. This ain't the year but goaltending will be a priority for next year. Hart will be there in 2 months.
  5. Put him in the net. He has been the man in college, from everything I've read, he's the real deal, is mentally very good and can translate to the NHL right away. His d was lousy at NE, so seeing a lot of shots won't matter to him. Doesn't seem like the NHL level will affect him mentally, which is the big concern I guess.
  6. moving him to center was the coaching move of the decade
  7. definitely not the worst place in the world to end up.
  8. probably have Power for last 5 or 6 games of the season, if at all. would be fun to see him
  9. agree. fire into sun group replaced next year by UPL, Power, Quinn, Peterka, Murray and couple FAs . Team instantly is younger, faster and much bigger. Probably struggle another year, but man that's a lot of young talent in one place.
  10. Probably be a couple of seasons from now. It's totally a roster issue. UPL, Levi, Power, Samuelsson, Quinn, Peterka need to have replaced the career AHLers on the ice now and have a season or two of NHL play and conditioning under their belt. Took a long time to break it and will take a long time to build it back. Granato is like a teacher/mentor , the team is buying into the fact that W/Ls are not the goal this year, they have a ton of young talent and that the inflection point is coming. Sure they could play the trap all game and eek out a few wins and hold back the players growth (ie, go back to KruegerVille) , but they are going for a fast exciting scoring team full of talent. They are doing it the right way. Pegs should be giving the tickets away this year and next, but that's a different issue.
  11. exactly, everyone chill out. Once Power, Sammy, UPL, Quinn, JJ and R2 are up for good next year, all will be well. Sabres being patient, just building a roster with patience. I like it. So many top prospects.
  12. don't really care one way or the other. Give me Quinn and Murray as soon as possible. So many of the current roster will be irrelevant once APL, Levi, Power, Quinn, Murray, Samuelson, etc come up for good. Today's roster , with a few exceptions is not at all tomorrows roster. Looking forward to it.
  13. Play the young talent. Murray, Quinn, etc. Get them out there at the earliest opportunity.
  14. thanks... I'm not really good with heights... that super steep Aud orange section.... the seats made you feel like you were just about to go head first 100 feet to the ice.... and take about 10 people with you...
  15. My bounce on Sabres losing Eichel is I felt years ago they lost the day the tank only got them the #2 pick and Eichel. With Oilers/Sabres coming soon, wanted to put out there the only worthy prize for the tank season was McDavid , and they missed. McDavid is a one of kind talent and 5x the player Eichel is. I watch Oilers highlights whenever I can to marvel at the guy's talent. So I have no qualms losing Eichel, as the Sabs lost this one years ago.
  16. won't need to worry about tanking.. its pretty much built into the roster for this year
