Shame on all those who wanted to trade him and/or switch him to forward
I know I proposed goalie. Nothing to sneeze at a both a Vezina and Conn Smythe winner.

I started it in that thread PA started about "real news" for Eichel. It was a joke about how, in that thread, he should only be referred to by his "real name".
I regret it.
I'll take the fall lol

Well my annoyance of the day. Damn "drivetrain" error message popped up on my fairly new car; stalled it to 34mph, redlined above 2000rpm, and was rumbling every stop. Called the dealer, said its a good thing it didn't just shut off - told me to bring it in asap, go on to say they have no loaners - awesome. Now I wait until Monday where I better get a damn loaner.
Now the error is gone and no record of it in the car or my app.
I could go for some lemonade.

Yeah they’re not gonna do some dramatic “rip the C off of Eichel“ move. There’s no NEED to be dramatic about it.
And I was expecting an opening night ceremony puck drop ending with Terry ripping his "C" off

Looks like Robin's mental issues have returned.
Ehh, cheap shot, but admittedly, he wasn't in the best mental space while in Buffalo. Regardless, just a bizarre article.

I hear Cater Hutton is blaming them, too! They refused to allow him to get eye replacement surgery
What if they hired way, way better people?
Since when did we start living in hypotheticals around here!?

It honestly would not shock me at all if he never puts on a Sabres uniform.
I thought the "Rob Ray rule" prevented that?

I'll always be a fan, a bit excited to see how the young players produce this year (not that I have lofty expectations, I'd be shocked if we're not bottom 3 in the league). As far as the team in the short term - not that excited, but I'll watch and go to games.
On surviving another rebuild, going with hope for the best, expect the worst. Best case - we learned from a decade of mistakes, and properly build a team that can compete for the playoffs in few years. Worst case - Groundhog's day.Edit. Should add, hoping we find some form of consistency and stability within the organization.

Points or Goals?
He was 10th I believe in Points, not 12th
But it wasn't that long ago that Hall and Kessel were both in the top 10 in points and I doubt anyone wants to break the bank on trading for one of them.....
I'd hope a center brings more than a winger, but the Sabres' center is broken... so, equivalent of salary retained for Harrington, Kapanenn, Spaling, a 1st and 3rd. I don't like it, but the Pens won two cups after! Alternatively, equivalent of Hall is the 1st overall.

Go ahead. Trade him to the Rags. They obviously want him, and I don’t care if they’re in the same division.
Fox, Laf or Kakko (their choice), Strome, and a 1st.
Eichel was 12th in scoring in the league the 2 seasons prior to the recent one. On teams that finished dead last. With no real centers behind him.
Can we drop Kakko? Ill take Lafreniere or Fox instantly... and same conference, we're in the Panthers/Lightning division, it makes sense /s

Anyone thinks it's weird that he has some dude in his background? Unless that's him but it doesn't look like him
Pale skin, curly hair, stiff neck; Fairly sure it's him ... we're really dissecting this from every angle

Someone made a reference to it a page or two ago but this thread is boring as ***** now so let's make a fun guess:
How many pages will this thread go before Jack is actually traded?
I'll go with 302.
Also, mods @SDS @nfreeman @spndnchz is there a way to check what thread is the longest in board history? This one has to be pushing it if it hasn't already, no?

Either:
he is determined to trade Jack by a certain date, prior to surgery, for the best available offer and that date has yet to arrive.
Or:
There is enough interest, and give and take, and circling back and counter-offers that he believes teams have yet to make their final offers and there is a worthwhile return still to be had.
These are very similar, but I sadly expect the former, prefer the latter. #400Pages4John
Okposo’s Future With the Team?

Extend him, but not sure I like the terms in the poll. I think a 1 year deal at 3-4m max deal is fine, and if healthy, keep going year by year. If everything falls apart next year, move him to a contender - if he wants, or if a contender wants him. Further, who knows what kind of moves the team makes this offseason. Ideally, he's a 3rd line player that can contribute on the ice, but more importantly lead the kiddos. As far as Captaincy... did I miss KA mentioning there will be a Captain next year? I'm not sure they need to give out a "C" just yet.
