  1. Could be Skjei as well, he has a similar contract situation. If they do actually trade for Karlsson, I'd imagine they'd move both of them.
  2. Hard to deny that DeDominicis has sources at this point. And he's been fairly forthright about when he has scoop and when he doesn't. Outside of the Dahlin signing (which we're obviously still waiting on), he's been pretty clear that he doesn't have any intel about upcoming moves right now.
  3. What kind of contract do we expect Soucy to get? And would we be happy with giving him that money? He's the type of player I'd love to see them target for the right price. Lefty but can play on the right side if needed. Has played bottom pairing minutes his whole career but I think there's potential there to be a #4.
  4. Gets handed the award by the guy he looked up to and modeled his game after. Gotta be an amazing night for Linus.
  5. Like others have said, that's Jeff Skinner.
  6. Buffalo: X, Anderson Rochester: UPL, Subban Looks fine to me. Better find that X...
  7. That one stings a little. We don't really have a Gustavsson to send back, but I'd like to think we could have made something work. Edit: Didn't realize that Gustavsson was such a high pick, he looks pretty equivalent to UPL. So in that case, I'm glad we didn't go this route.
  8. From a quick look at Hockey Reference, Milano has been given very skewed offensive zone deployment for his entire career, as high as 76% OZS last season. And I haven't watched Milano since his draft year but his profile was of a flashy skilled player who needed to round out his overall and defensive game. Are we sure that those Evolving Hockey numbers aren't a mirage created by his heavy offensive zone usage? I know players can adapt their games to carve out a role, but at first glance I'm not seeing the profile of a solid defensively responsible winger. I'm seeing a "sheltered third scoring line" winger, and I'd much rather see that position be given to one of the kids than Sonny Milano.
  9. Where was the Gibson rumor reported? I must have missed it.
  10. Assuming this happens, that fills one hole and potentially opens up another. Sens fans seem undecided on if Forsberg/Gustavsson is the answer or if they'd bring in another G.
  11. Probably not very long if at all. They like to get you moving around as soon as possible.
  12. Tim & Friends, I believe it's a daily Sportsnet show that gets repackaged as a podcast the next day. There's a YouTube clip floating around somewhere, I'll try to find it.
  13. Friedman absolutely said that he was getting a lot of pushback on the Weekes tweet. Said that he would never disparage another reporter but he made it clear that none of his sources were echoing what Weekes said. This was on Tim & Friends shortly after the tweet. Now which one of them you trust more is a whole nother story.
  14. Jack would also be on LTIR so there isn't an immediate concern there. Hitting the cap floor is an issue for us, and they'd have to figure out the cap ceiling once he returns.
  15. I'd have to dust off the CBA to remember the specifics, you may be right, but either way the Caps get first dibs at sending him to their farm team. Very little chance he ends up in Rochester.
  16. If they did everything else exactly the same but signed a legitimate starting or at least 1B goalie? I would say they have low expectations but aren't tanking. Anderson, Tokarski, and Dell? That's a clear tank job.
  17. Because they were the original team to put him on waivers. If we were allowed to claim players and send them down ourselves, no worthwhile player would ever make it through waivers and the teams at the top of the waiver priority list would just stack their AHL teams.
  18. Since we are first in the waiver order, the 30 other teams all have an opportunity to put in a claim. If none do, the Caps are then free to send him to Hershey.
  19. No need to stoke the flames here. Jack will be starting the year on LTIR anyway, so just label someone else as the interim captain for that reason. Formally stripping him of the C just turns the whole situation into an even larger circus.
  20. Why is it unreasonable to so many folks here and in our local media that he may simply want disc replacement because studies have shown it to offer improved long-term quality of life compared to fusion? He's a young, otherwise healthy person who I'd assume cares a lot about his body and health. And fusion, to my knowledge, is not a reversible procedure. If I was in that spot, I'd be very tempted by ADR as well. I don't get why this has to be a big conspiracy in an attempt to force a trade, when the easy answer to me is that he simply is injured and wants a different procedure. As has been reported.
  21. I'd have to imagine that if this actually is Adams' demand, he would've been bent over in a trade already. The fact that he hasn't been pressured into anything is encouraging.
  22. My thoughts, from most likely to least: 1. Simpson has bad info or is full of *****. He's not a known source and the December timeline doesn't really align with either treatment option. 2. Eichel/The Sabres feel that a trade is close and have given him permission to schedule a ADR surgery for some time in the next week or two. They're leaking a conservative 3 month time estimate so that if everything goes well, his recovery will be "ahead of schedule" in the media. 3. The Sabres' team docs have had a change of heart and now are comfortable with ADR. This seems extremely unlikely at this point.
