Achieved our seasonal average snowfall in Anchorage on Christmas Day. Already have had a few roof collapses. And we only have another 3-4 months of winter to go! Lots of skiing available but the backcountry is shut down due to high avalanche danger.

Would Anyone Care If Any Current Player Was Traded?
irregularly irregular replied to CallawaySabres's topic in The Aud Club
Given what we all perceived as a team potentially approaching 100+ points this year, this is absolutely an unacceptable product. I don't think it's the players as much as it is the coaching staff and front office. No more "we will learn from tonight's game" speeches. Put Gallant behind the bench and allow him to reset the bar. By the end of January you will know if it really is the players or not. -
I think most of us could agree that McD is the best coach since Marv. To call him great (at this point) is a stretch. That sums it up.

Dallas has to prove to themselves and everyone else that they can win against good teams on the road. Miami just has to prove they can win against good teams. I see Dallas as the better team and a loss at Miami could confirm the downward spiral into the playoffs and therefore more to play for.

Shouldn't the captain be the first person stepping forward to do what is best for the team? It should come from Kyle or does it come down to DG making it happen?

Guess I need to start taking the dog for a walk every 3rd period. -
Nope, not even close. All they have to do is get to the playoffs. All teams this year seem to have significant flaws. Get to the playoffs. Get hot and throw in some luck. Get some good matchups. Don't get done in by the zebras. Parade!!! There are a dozen different teams this year that could win if they can only get to the playoffs, and the Bills are certainly in that group.

Big? It's zoned as multi-family. Does that answer the question?

I voted for the waiver wire, but you have made an excellent argument(s) to make me reconsider my vote.

NHL Teams Vote to decentralize the Draft
irregularly irregular replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Yeah, it's a stretch. If we could hook them up to a lie detector, I'd bet almost all of them wish they could boo him and every one of them thinks they could do a better job of running the league. -

Seems to be nothing more than an attempt to reduce the number of people in the room that are booing Bettman every time he steps up to the podium. -
Annual expectations thread 2023/24: #21 Kyle Okposo
irregularly irregular replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
Very good chance this is KO's last season. Would be awesome to see him accept the cup from Bettman and then literally hand it off to the next Sabres captain. -
Rasmus is enjoying his rent free vacation living in your head.

$61M is close to what the City of Buffalo is budgeted to pay for all of the firefighters/EMS personnel in the current budget year. 🤯 edit: my apologies for the not really sports related commentary.

What is Olofsson's role in the 2023/24 Sabres?
irregularly irregular replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Thank you Liger for doing the fact checking on that. I guess it only felt like 20 games. Regardless of the actual number, VO has to come into camp and prove himself to be a much better and more complete piece of the puzzle. -

Most everyone can agree that if KA got a decent offer for VO at any point so far this off season, he would be gone. The Quinn injury changed that plan and gives VO an opportunity. That chance along with his enjoying the view from the press box for the final 20 games of last season should be a wakeup call. It's totally up to Victor. He wants out, he's got to play his way into a trade or onto the waiver wire. I hope he is up to the challenge and chooses the proper path. -
I appreciate your thoughtful approach to future considerations. I would say that you are maybe getting too far into the future considerations. KA needs to concentrate on what works best for the 2023-24 season while keeping an eye on how that effects the future. This team as now constructed seems to have the pieces that could get them into the playoffs if things go well. There are still many moving parts to fit into spots around the NHL between now and the start of the season, and therefore lots of opportunity for KA to add and/or subtract one or two more pieces to the team. I'll wait to see what happens before the season starts before I start looking for a reason to complain that KA didn't do enough.

Sabres Free Agency Thread

Maybe individually at some point in the season, but IMHO not all 3 to start the season. That's just too much new and unproven rookie learning curve to the start the season with. Never mind. Just saw your reply. -
I'm wondering if Tanev would be the best fit for Power. I have a sense that he has some "Loose Cannon" in him and that makes me concerned about his helping with the development of Power. Then there is also the question about how well he fits in the locker room. I could be totally wrong about this and will happily be corrected by those who know better.
