Thanks everyone hopefully I land something soon.

As Kas23 mentioned large hospital groups and even Health Insurance Companies are buying up everything to maximize profits.

Welcome to future of US Healthcare

I'm certain you are capable of getting a kick ass power play system in place. Get your resume over to KA first thing Monday morning.

Otherwise, doors will open and opportunities will present themselves. Best of luck and keep your head up.

  2. Reading between the lines, it seems as though KA wanted to fire Granato during the season but Terry said no. Instead, KA had time to think about it and to make a plan. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but it doesn't give me a good feeling. All of Adam's previous plans have worked out so well after all. Maybe the added heat from his own job being on the line will be the catalyst needed to improve upon his previous decision making process.

  3. As always, all we can do is wait and see. It would make sense that this is GMKA's last chance at a coach that gets them to the playoffs and keeps them there for a number of years. Maybe next to the last chance if things are not working in the early season and another change needs to be made. That seat has to be blazing hot.

  4. This is me being hopeful that Cozens issues this year were all injury related. He was trending to be that reliable 2-way C that put up 30 goals. He can't be asked to be the sacrificial "enforcer". I hope he gets healthy and smarter this summer because the Sabres really need his game to return and improve.

That said a steady and experienced 3C who can take face-offs and the clone of Angry Larry to fill the spot at 4C are my biggest requests.

Shuffle anyone not name Dahlin, Power, or Byram, plus some picks or prospects or bottom 6 guys for the 4th D that helps Power achieve the next level(s) is a nice idea too.

  5. Davis had his "hiccups" (his own word) earlier in the year, but was channelling his inner Ken Dryden during the tournament. Helped that the coaching staff changed the team profile to help the defense and stay out of the penalty box during playoff time. They spent 3 practices just working on how to defend again Celebrini and the BU power play, then didn't have to worry about it as they stayed out of the sin bin.

  6. DU (University of Denver) is the first team to reach 10 national championships.

A name to watch: David Carle has coached DU to national championships 2 of the last 3 years with players who don't have anywhere near the star power of their opponents. Also helps when your goalie has a .979 (138 of 141) save percentage during the tournament.

Sorry, but this should have been the expectation for the 2023-2024 season (which they failed miserably to achieve).  We also know that a team can have a good start and then fall short when it counts.  The staff should be fired immediately after the last game and use the summer to instead get the team and new coaching staff aligned.

I doubt Granato is shown the door while in possession of that shiny new contract. As I said, where it me owning the team the bar would be set much higher and there would be consequences which have not been seen since Kruger lost 17 in a row or whatever that number was.

2023-24 is water over the dam. Time to forget that mess and focus on the best possible future.

    Can we start with Dunleavy?

    Please!!!

That would actually be a significant and meaningful statement by the Sabres that they are not accepting poor performance from anyone. Do an exhaustive search of the minor leagues and D1 programs and find a new, exciting and knowledgeable voice for the Sabres PxP. While you are at it get one or more new color commentators too.

  9. It's got to start with Terry. He has to set the bar much higher, hold KA and DG fully accountable and then back it up with his own accountability to the fans.

If I was the team owner, DG would know that starting next season every 10 games he is having a performance evaluation. If the team is not in the top 3 of the Atlantic Division at any one of those evaluations then it's good bye and enjoy your free money.

If I was the team owner, KA would know that if DG fails any one of those performance evaluations then he has one chance to hire the interim head coach that saves his job. Once the new head coach is in place if the Sabres don't make the playoffs for the 14th year in a row, then KA and the interim coach join DG looking for gainful employment.

Using this formula, KA and DG have from the day after locker clean-out until the start of the 2024-25 season to make the changes they want to make. New coaches, new players, same players with different roles, trainers, equipment guys, janitors, whatever it takes. This is their last chance to prove their worth. The guidelines are straightforward and easily measured. The Sabres are in the playoffs next season or everything gets blown up..... again.

Well Yes But Actually No GIF by walter_

5 months before the season starts and lots of things are going to be different.

Way early to be making definitive statements. Let's just wait and see how this is going to play out.

It should be fun to watch.

Maybe GMKA might get an idea of what it takes and how it's done.

Nah, Josh Allen is the important part of the Bills. This year might be a down year due to cap cleanup and the need to get younger and faster. I'm sure it could be used to claim Allen isn't good without Diggs while ignoring the 10 games where Diggs was irrelevant.

Funny thing is, that's kind of what happened with Sammy Watkins.

    Yes, but no.

Diggs seems to be on the way out the door due to age/declining ability/contract as opposed to Watkins who never figured out how to get to that point.

  13. BandAid has now been torn off.

Cheatriots, NJJest and a rebuilding Miami are not juggernauts.

One season of potentially struggling as new players fit into place then the wound is healed and the veteran QB is leading the charge.

Rose colored glasses firmly in place.

  14. Terry has lots of things that need his attention. Hopefully first and foremost is Kim's health.

The Sabres are a long way down the list of priorities that need attention. And push come to shove, they have almost certainly been a good investment for him. From that standpoint the Sabres don't need much attention.

Please Terry, sell a controlling interest in the team to people that have it higher on their list of priorities. Leadership has to come from the very top. Even if leading requires the strength and knowledge to step away and place said leadership in the hands of someone more capable and available.

    Why will they be moved?

Someone will buy them and keep them here if Pegula sells the team. It’s not the fans fault Pegula has destroyed the team.  Bring in some successful NHL people to run the team and the building will be full again. All people want is success.

At this point all I would ask for is the team going out and playing competitive NHL level hockey every game of the season.

Which is going to take new coaching and probably a new GM and definitely new ownership to make it all happen.

I just booked a trip for April. Going to hit Mt St Michele and the Normandy beaches, then fly to Latvia and get a car and drive around Latvia and Lithuania. Maybe I'll stop and see Zemgus' family while I'm around.

That was a quick recovery from the jet lag fueled hangover of only 1 week ago. Luckily your liver might be ready for another go-round next month, especially with the advantage of flying west to get home.

  17. Got a phone call last night from my former co-worker and good friend who was diagnosed with brain cancer ( Glio Blastoma Multiforme- median survival after diagnosis is 14-16 months with around 1% survival at 10 years - yep, it's bad) and she was given 18 months to live. That diagnosis was 5.5 years ago after she collapsed on the street having convulsions. Yesterday she was released by her oncologist after she was told that he was too busy taking care of sick people and didn't need to follow someone who had 2 years of stable MRIs to her credit. That phone call was the very definition of AWESOME!!!

Cancer sucks!,  but it can be beaten. Even the worst ones.  God willing with all the research being done there will be some secrets unlocked and we can maybe get the upper hand. Jim Valvano said it best... " Never, ever give up".

Take five minutes to get a competent front office and President of Hockey Operations, then Terry can go back to counting his shekels, taking power naps, and disappearing into the background like he's so fond of doing. Problem solved.

Isn't that what everyone wants? The ideal owner picks good people and allows them to do their jobs and they do them well. The ideal owner should disappear into the background. You make it sound like that's a bad thing when it would be exactly what we should be seeing. Would you prefer a Jerry Jones type of owner?

He's a fraud in the sense of what he was brought here for.

And what was that exactly? Also given the way things have happened this year, maybe it's not so much EJ but the coaching staff that is more at fault?

He's shown some leadership and fire along with what is likely to be an older players inability to be what he once was.
