Blame canada? Why not blame the worse Refs I have seen. Still its on for Tomorrow and I want to see Canada's golden boy get owned.
Didn't get the feed at work today for some reason so just followed along on twitter so I didn't see the call. However, you don't let up two with 3 and a half to go and that penalty call doesn't even come into play.

Looks like we'll be seeing the Islander 2015 pick since they may fall back into the race for 2014 #1 overall pick:
NYI expect John Tavares to miss the balance of the season due to the injury suffered at the Olympics.
Wow. I didn't realize it was that serious. That's great in terms of the Isles draft pick (looks like we will almost certainly be getting their 2015 which is fine by me) but horrible news for those hoping the NHL goes to South Korea in 2018.

I'm trying to read all of the American insults but I have last olympics replica gold medals covering my eyes. REPEAT!!!!
We have a lot to do, producing half the worlds GDP, inventing all of the things, producing all of the movies, etc. We only have time to notice the important things.

I got your point, and I'll address it seriously rather than joke around: Russia did not play lazy, or disinterested, or any of that other stuff that has become the narrative in such a short period of time. Their game against the USA was some of the most inspired hockey that I ever have seen. Problem is, Russia's just not that good. But you're right: that's not the story we're getting from sportswriters.
I thought the Russian coaching was horrendous late in the Finland game but I didn't watch them much other than today.

Russia controls half the game but struggles to score goals and loses to Finland (a perennial medal contender), and it proves that Russians are a bunch of lazy, floating individuals who don't know the meaning of team. Ovechkin only had one goal in the tourney, yada yada typical Russians. Canada struggles to score and escapes by an ass hair against Latvia with Crosby being invisible on the scoresheet...anyone want to take a guess what the narrative will be? I can take a guess what it won't be.
Did you watch the Russian game and more importantly the canada game? It's not as if canada was lazy out there. I'm usually in agreeance with most of your posts but you are way off base on this one IMO.

Great job Latvia.
Absolutely nothing to be ashamed about.
Certainly not the goaltender but the forwards generated maybe 4 scoring chances all game and got outshot something like 60 to 15. I think each one of them owes the goalie a beer.

Great start. Shots 16-5 Canada and score is tied 1-1. Really pulling for Latvia as I love underdogs. The longer Latvia can hang close the tougher it gets for Canada. Latvia has nothing to lose. Canada loses and they might as well join Russia in Siberia.
Anybody watching How is Girgs doing?

Take the interim tag off for F's sake. This is supposed to be a 20-1 team in this game. They can lose 6-1 and it will still be an awesome effort given the start.

Completely agree. I thought throughtout the tourney there were a few countries that played the Americans and Canadians close. I think it's coming. It's taken a few years where the N.A. teams win by an average of 8 goals but some of these other women's programs are coming along.
Also, stay classy Liger.
