Since when? Fusion surgery is a longer recovery and replacement is shorter (in time for the season). No one has said this in the know.

You don't know that Tuch won't have any lingering effects from knee surgery. All surgery presents risks of never getting back to elite form.

And everything he has done has been an abject failure.  Hanging onto Krueger, gutting the scouting department, signing Hall to a ridiculous deal, not addressing the goaltending situation, terrible FA signings. He even payed Taylor Hall to play for the Bruins in the playoffs.

He's got one year of experience as a GM, and that experience is of managing the Sabres to the bottom of the league.

Sure the Pegulas trust him, but they trusted Botterill and Murray, and they fired both those guys after only 3 years in.

Adams has two years to right this ship, and he's about to trade the only consistently productive fowards this team has had the last five years for prospects who haven't even managed to be point-a-game players in the AHL.

You think Pegula is going to be patient watching the Sabres bottom-out the next two seasons waiting for Adams' kids make it to the big leagues?  Eichel and Reinhart didn't save Murray.  Dahlin, Mittelstadt, and Cozens didn't save Botteril.

Adams better figure out a way to win soon, because I doubt Terry has found religion when it comes to patience with his GM.

Your question was "In other words, he's no different than the last two failed GMs who held the job before him?"

I answered your question with basically he wasn't off the street like Murray and Botterill was, he was in the organization already. Being around since basically 2011, don't you think he knows how the Pegulas are? Again, he has assurances or he wouldn't have taken the position.

I didn't like the hire, but the guy is smart. He has been a player, coach, agent, and worked on the business side, he took his time to add to his staff, made changes on the fly when necessary (Nightingale) and is going slow and deliberate.

Because he's an inexperienced GM who doesn't understand that "culture" is something that is developed, not created, and is under the delusion that NHL GMs are given the time and space to build a team from the ground up?

He's very different. He came in on the business side, observed, and made recommendations to gut it. He then helped do the same to the hockey department. He gained the Pegula's trust, and has assurances he will be given the time to see his vision succeed.

Gotta quarantine from Ari to NYS? How long?

Also, beyond Hall, it's entirely possible that Sheahan and Rieder could be sent packing.

They are both useful 4th liners on minimum contracts. Contenders frequently add those types for late-round picks for the playoffs.

Granato said he is flying commercial so I am guessing 7 days but I really don't know.

Well no we can definitely admit it went down as the season went on, but we do know that's when the line mates begin to factor in more prominently. His numbers did look good with Larsson after October, for one.

Eye-test wise, I honestly do remember him getting in for chances last year and just failing to convert a lot. That's where the bad luck factors in - we know he has to ability to finish. His TOI was 14th on the team, so I'm firm on the belief, with that expected goals, and what we've see him do in the past, he should have been getting more than that, and that's BEFORE we factor in what a quality centre might bump that up to.

This isn't to totally absolve Skinner. You actually have to do the converting, I get that. I'm just betting on a statistical regression to the mean, and my knowledge that Skinner can score goals, before I buy the idea he shouldn't be getting a fair shake at it.

Yes, I think being teamed with Lazar and Sheahan is not a fair shake.

    No, really?

Yes. My guess, and this is just my feeling, he knew him previously and thought his PK/defensive skills would help immediately.
(sorry, I didn't quote this properly)

Not this year, unless something disastrous happens, or he dominates the AHL.

I imagine he's a backup to Johansson right now, who has an AHL all-star last year. I like 6K, but he's got a ways to go. Hasn't established himself in the AHL yet.

Thank you. People seem to forget Johansson played really well last year for Rochester.
