  1. I didn’t like Dahlin’s interview whatsoever. I wanted to hire Gallant after Vegas canned him. Tuch reinforced that for me.
  2. Was this not the messaging last season? Every summer this needs to be the message.
  3. I mean this with the utmost sincerity—what noteworthy humanitarian contributions has he made to the community? I’m not on the twitter so I don’t see the Sabres marketing about this and I don’t remember seeing other posts. Im not doubting any of his contributions, I’d simply like to learn more of them.
  4. What? He had Dominik Hasek. Ted Nolan had success with Hasek, is he a good coach? What group of players do you think he got more out of than another coach could have? Was his Hasek teams markedly better than Nolan’s? I didn’t say he wasn’t a good coach, I said at no point was he considered a top 5 coach in the league. Maybe I’m mistaken, but I don’t really think that’s a debate. Give me the belle of the ball. Your main point cuts both ways. Lindy was able to stick around as long as he did because of the penny pinching. His win number is inflated because of that and then people point to his win total and say SEE! I also don’t remember him being in any particular demand after he was fired. His perception in Buffalo is outsized compared to the rest of the hockey world. The last point, I don’t really see it being applicable. Lindy didn’t do anything special on a shoestring budget. Hasek is Hasek. He had success with Drury and Briere. So you have ‘98 loss to the Caps, ‘99 loss to the Stars, ‘06 loss to the Canes, and ‘07 loss to the Sens. There’s our successful (HA) seasons since 1998. Many coaches could have gotten those same results. Lindy would get more out the team than DG did. There are coaches available who can get more from this team than Lindy. Give me them.
  5. I really don’t think Lindy was ever a great coach. I understand he won a Jack Adams, but at no point in time, in my memory at least, was he considered a top-5 coach in any respect. I also don’t think he ever elevated a roster. He’s arguably coming in to equalish talent to his last playoff team here. I don’t think he was good enough in those years, and I don’t think he will be now. I get it. We all love Lindy. But can we not admit that his win total comes from the fact he coached an organization that was under incredible turmoil and then a penny pincher. He was here because nobody wanted more. It’s long been a problem with the organization. I know I’ll take a lot of heat for this but this board incredible overrates Ruff.
  6. As if Gary didn’t give Arizona every opportunity to succeed.
  7. I’ve seen Berube’s name tossed around a lot on this board, but I don’t know much outside of he won the cup with the Blues the year they started like ***** with Yeo. What’s he like?
  8. I never want to hear another word about any member of this organization being a “good guy,” or that being used to carry any weight about ANYTHING. As long as they aren’t murderers or abusers, who gives a *****. It’s about winning hockey games, not a Peace Prize. Hell, Lindy practically snapped a twig over poor Luke Adams head derailing his entire career, so there’s even a grey area with abuse.
  9. Q claims that he was told that there was an incident between a player and coach that should be addressed and he said he didn’t want a distraction for the team from a Stanley Cup chase. If he truly didn’t know the severity of the issue, I don’t see how you can fault anyone in his position for waiting to address it. Which brings me to the next point. Chevy wasn’t punished because it was deemed it was his boss, Bowman, who was responsible for handling the issue. I don’t see how the same doesn’t apply to Q. Its all complete speculation as to who is being honest, who feels remorse, who has done enough reconciliation and rehabilitation. I don’t think we will make a move for him, so it’s all moot.
  10. Even if there wasn’t a snowballs chance in hell they hire him, they 100% need to interview every knowledgeable body for insight in improving the Sabres.
  11. Thank you, I thought I was taking crazy pills. also, thanks @LGR4GM for the transcript
