  1. This is what I read when I got up today. So stop being an idiot.
  2. Let me just say this: I AM IN TOTAL SHOCK!!! What is Pegula doing? In the midst of a rebuild he bails? I'm stymied as to what even to say. Of course I'm sorry to see Darcy go. But add to that, the timing. NOW??? After a win? Add to THAT - he brings in Lafontaine, who admits he's not qualified for the job????? Add to THAT - he brings in one of the worst coaches we've ever had. I am no fan of Nolan's. His extramarital affairs with a certain player's wife has gotten him blackballed in the league and rightfully so. I was hoping we'd never see him again. Perhaps Pegula really doesn't know what he's doing.
  3. +1 Darcy has been making great trades the past couple of years. That's why he gets paid the big bucks. I just hope the rebuild doesn't take 10 years, I might not be around that long!
  4. Excellent trade by Darcy. I should say ANOTHER excellent trade. The picks are what make the difference. If both players walk at the end of the season, Buffalo wins. With all the talk about Vanek going to Minnesota because he lives there, his wife is from there, he went to school there and the Wild would like to sign him next season (after dumping Heatley's contract), I'd say that it is more likely that Vanek will walk on the Islanders. While Darcy is at it, I'm sure he's working on a Miller trade, but I think he should also consider trading Ehrhoff too. It is obvious by his lackluster play that he's not happy here and would like to move on. Darcy showed why he gets the big bucks.
  5. I am in the keep him camp. Year after year fans (including some on this board) complain about this team having no heart. Well you can never say that about Kaleta. He plays tough and hands out more than he gets. He's fearless and you can tell he's thrilled to be a Sabre and to have a chance to play the sport he loves. Gee...I wonder what would happen if some other players on this team (Stafford) felt and acted the same way? This is the kind of player Buffalo loves to cheer for.
  6. It's just nice to see Darcy getting just a little bit more love around here.
  7. The Hawks were my team when I started following the NHL in 1964 while in college. Nesterenko, Pappin, Pilote, Stapleton, Esposito...those guys were my heroes with Hull & Mikita, of course. In fact I just picked up Mikita's book "I Play To Win". It is going for almost $200 on ebay. I got it for $30. Might be a good investment. How about Phoenix? I get the message - Darcy is damned good in making trades!
  8. I read this somewhere but the more I think about it, the better I like it. How about a trade...Stepan for Hodgson? Stepan wants $4.7 million on a 6 year deal. That's not too bad for a kid of his talent level, plus he's only 23. Meanwhile Darcy is having a hell of a time with agent Winter in signing Hodgson and will continue to have a tough time as long as Hodgson keeps him as his agent. I didn't know where else to put this, so I figured this thread was as good as any.
  9. Thanks man. I was wondering why I didn't see any chatter about this.
  10. Looks like the Sabres were after Domi in the draft according to Columbus. http://www.thegoosesroost.com/2013/08/state-run-sources/
  11. I don't see the Seattle move working out well. It has already been determined that the NBA franchise will be the prime tenant of the new arena even if the NHL arrives there first. Secondly, there is a lot of competition for the sports dollar in a population considerably smaller than LA, Chicago, Philly, or NY. Thirdly, why consider moving to a city where the NBC Stanley Cup Finals were blacked out this past season? Obviously hockey is not an attraction there to begin with. I could see Portland as a better venue, although every selection has liabilities. Quebec is the obvious second choice, but they are in the east. In truth, they need to relocate or dissolve franchises rather than create new ones. But I know that will not happen in the near future.
  12. This board is about expressing your opinion. You expressed yours, I expressed mine. They are different, so what's the problem? You like this guy, I can't stand him. Two opinions. We could just as well be talking about any NHL player. You like him, I don't. Stop overreacting. It's no big deal.
  13. Don't be an idiot. I simply said, "To each his own" - meaning your entitled to your opinion and I to mine. What's your problem? No, this isn't about you. I'm fine with you.
  14. I apologize for not being a member of your fan club. Sorry, but I don't suffer obnoxious fools well.
