To be precise a contributor to that site tweeted it. And unnamed sources are a staple of journalism. Wouldn't confirmation have to come from the team or league?

Having said all that, it doesn't seem like there's much to go on here.

I just don't think your reasons are good ones.

If you think this is bad, you should see what happens on TBD. Some mods over there are on serious power trips like the dudes who got bullied in high school that are now cops taking it out on everyone.

Not liking how this sounds.  How about some self respect for the job you have?

Everyone needs someone or something to push them when you get to that level.  Even if you think you don't. Michael Jordan used every insult or slight, real or imagined to fuel his unquenchable fire inside of him. And his coaches tapped into that side of him and don't believe for a second they didn't.

  3. Red Wings and Pens eliminated last night after Philly pulls the goalie in a tie game since they needed a win in regulation to make it in...had they went to OT and won they would have been out but the Red Wings would have been in...tough way to get knocked out of the playoffs...especially after scoring with 3.3 seconds left to send the game to OT and then win it...

No idea how good the stat is but it’s something I guess

He was excellent at them last year as well. One of the biggest drivers of the Sabres offense last year was Power starting the breaks up ice with those long passes out of his own zone.  The offensive numbers with him on the ice versus off the ice last year was a pretty large gap.

Sabres rated number one. Boston last. Would love to see specifics around sabres prospects. I can share Athletic specifics later tonight

Quite remarkable the Sabres have promoted so many young players to the NHL including Benson, this years #1 pick and STILL have the best prospect pool. Literally sitting on an almost embarrassing amount of prospect riches at this point.

We have had the brightest future for thirteen years.

Wouldn't have been 13 years if Murray had been a little more patient and not traded all the prospects and picks for players that left the cupboard bare when it didn't work out. He set us back 5 years at least.

All the Sabres can do is keep winning games. Just like last year, they dug the hole prior and must hope for others to lose.

Only good thing is they have 2 more games against the Wings and Caps, and 1 more against the Devils, Flyers and Lightning(last game of the regular season).  IMO, those are all almost must wins in regulation at this point.  Cannot afford to lose or give up any loser points to these teams.

After 67 games, the Sabres have 69 points this season. Last year after 67 games, they had 72 points.

Last year starting at game 68, the Sabres went on a 3 game losing streak, losing those 3 games by a total score of 19-5.

IF the Sabres get 3 points in the next 3 games, they will have the exact same number of points after 70 game as they did last year (and actually be better in terms of tie-breakers due to more regulation wins)

Last season, the Sabres got 19 points in the final 12 games.

They are now also a positive in goal differential. The last time an eastern conference team finished with a positive goal differential and did NOT make the playoffs (pre-covid, traditional playoff format) was in the 2018-2019 season.

Sad we are tied in points with the Caps right now with 69 even tho they have 2 games in hand, but have a dreadful -32 goal differential.

  8. Sabres are now +2 in Goal Differential this year.  Currently they are the only team with a positive goal differential not in a playoff position. They are tied with the Caps at 69 points, but they have 2 games in hand even tho they have a terrible -32 goal differential.  Mind boggling honestly.

  9. Meh...the NHL's model seems very flawed if not completely broken.  How can half the teams or more lose money but yet the salary cap goes up year after year?  Makes no sense.

Making the kind of revenue they are making NO TEAM should be losing money.  Literally the entire salaries of the NFL are paid from their share of revenue and not out of the owners pockets. They pay for signing bonuses up front but that's up to them if they want to do it.  NFL pretty much prints money so it's usually not an issue.

  10. so effectively, 90% of their games are against teams in their own division?  WTF kind of weird schedule is that?  Guessing trying to limit travel distance and costs? I mean they are playing them each like 10x?

Which not coincidentally happens to be owned by these two guys

3 guys actually...their other brother, Pat, is the one who started it and they all co-own in.

Opened one in Toronto a year or two ago...next time I get up there I am checking it out 😂

I wonder if they have "Good Vibrations" on loop inside the restaurant...🤔

I didn't watch whole game, but I thought he looked great moving puck, jumping in on play. Loved the play he made on the goal that was called back. I hope they do not trade him.

Power is 21 years old. 21!!!!  The amount of hate people have on this board borders on craziness for a player who is so young and still has a ton of room to grow.

I thought Power looked good after he returned from injury, until last night.  However, I thought he played afraid last night.  He has no physical aspect to his game.  None.  Not only does he not hit, but he avoids being hit and he plays with his stick way too much.  Two goals were on him.

He was right there when Fisher purposely jumped on UPL and he did nothing.  So what happens, they jump UPL again   The Wings were begging for it last night

Yeah, Power is only 21.   Byram is only 22.  Dahlin is only 23.

If Bryam has a huge year next season is Adams going to pay him or trade him?   Mitts was moved in part because of salary planning.   All Adams did was kick that can down the road for one year.

    Neither does Erik Karlsson.

Well yes, they won't win the cup that's a no brainer BUT where I'd disagree with you is in their desire to make the playoffs, to WIN NOW, as they rebuild rather than just saying oh it's a "development year" we have long term plans be patient.

He was a cheap available body to fill a hole while they have 3 guys on IR. At this deadline they upgraded their draft as a a whole and are trying to make the playoffs for this season, how can you find fault with that? Do you really want to argue that their rebuild has been less successful than ours this season? We SHOULD be WAY AHEAD of them but we are not. We are the clueless franchise, not them.

At the end of the day, talent wins out.  It may take a little longer, but we have far more talent coming thru the pipeline than they do.

Like the Bills in the mid 80s to late 80s...eventually all those HOF players they drafted just realized..."we are simply better than these other teams and we are going to kick your ass", and then they did. Sabres may not have any HOF players but they likely have a lot of really good ones.  Only a matter of time before they are simply better most nights than the teams they are playing.
